  1. Alright James, hope all went well this weekend. Sorry I couldn't help out but I had to be at work at 2pm on Sunday, looks like a good time was had by all, well nearly all. Hope these pics help if you need more let me know. Ignore the oil, I am changing the rad and had a bit of a spillage from the oil cooler. Take it easy. front on inside above outside
  2. just my opinion, 8 rounds is a heck of a lot, i appreciate this is the premier uk winch challenge series and it needs to keep its prestige. If you want to compete in the overall championship then you have a lot of miles to enter all events, which was part of my decision not to enter. plus all of the obvious repairs etc. also if there is an event every month for 8 months this doesn't leave much of an opportunity to enter any other event.
  3. me and 12 friends did a banger rally to the nurburgring last year, budget was 400. we managed to pick up a volvo 850 t5 for 400, had to spend a little on it to get it road legal. we were both supprised how fast it was, even full of a weeks gear and camping stuff beer etc, but if you completly stripped it of all unessential things it would be alarming. plus a 10 minute lap on my friends first lap of the ring is very supprising.
  4. have a look on you tube, i know it sounds weird, but people have put up video's explaining how differentials, gearboxes, engines etc work, some of it is fairly anal but with a video you can see what the person is talking about.
  5. i see your point that the classes cover a wide range but without having 7 or 8 classes thats the issue, and with a field of 20-30 vehicles everyone will finish first/second in class
  6. So you still believe that a formula one should be on the same grid as a touring car? The fact that Saley is in the same class as a challenge 90 shows that your regulations are fundamentaly flawed. Daanyeah but in the le mans 24 hour race all classes run at the same time on the same track
  7. regarding marshaling/admin roles etc. would offering free membership for people who marshall a set number of events or even free event entry for certain more time consuming roles be an incentive for people to join in. i have very little free time around weekends and getting enough time off to compete is hard. but to people who have every weekend off work the incentive of free event entry may be encouraging. apologies if this is already the case but i am fairly new to the club.
  8. the test is a doddle. i had never towed a trailer before, did a days training and the test the next day. passed with no minors.
  9. as these are all sundays i presume there will be no saturday night stages this year.

  11. tickles me every time i see it http://www.gully.org/~mackys/lj/welded-diff.jpg i don't have any engineering training but this make no sense.
  12. would a land rover breakers not be the cheapest option?
