  1. Rev limiter.......boost limiter kicking in because your wastegate is sticking. Probably.
  2. M40 near jct 2 Thursday evening. LHD and full of cables . No exhaust?
  3. That is any old body thrown on just as the Freelander mule had a van body.
  4. "Is it knackered" not the best opener if you don`t mind me saying, fair response in my opinion.
  5. If it is a TD5 there is a blanked connection on top of the fuel pump for this. cut the top off and shove your fuel line into the tank.
  6. I know very little about Carbs. I learned enough about the Carb i had at the time, nine years ago! I have forgotten it all since then, confirmed by me reading the above. I went from a very basic understanding of how a carb works to knowing all of the functions of the carb i had at the time, there is a lot of information out there incl. some very good books. Maybe i could sell you a book?
  7. Hi everyone, i experienced a strange issue with my 05 Defender TD5 yesterday. I can not get fault codes read until later in the week so just wondering if the collective has any experience of the following. Drove for about an hour and parked up for an hour, truck started fine and was running as good as ever, parked up again after 30 min for about another hour and then on starting up again, during tickover the engine stutters and then surges, engine light comes on, glow plug light comes on and temp gauge crashes to zero! all this happens within a second then normal tickover and then another blip and so on. It cleared when i revved it and then drove home as normal. When the temp gauge falls it does not fall slowly like when the ignition is turned off, it goes back very quickly. I am thinking bad earth somewhere or chaffed wiring maybe, anyone had similar?
  8. Try adding an older relative, with no recent claims, as a named driver. See what happens.
  9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Disc-paint-/122408541556?clk_rvr_id=1187422930204&utm_content=buffer5a321&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer&rmvSB=true&clk_rvr_id=1187750309540&rmvSB=true Not the usual ebay item for this thread but I thought it was worth sharing.
  10. Another vote for the waterproof seat covers, great fit.
  11. No, that is what I have done in the past but I am replacing them with LED spares. I have two vehicles and I know I will need one sometime so not a big deal regards expense Vs convenience.
