  2. Nige We use kemppie machines alot - try rapid welding supplies HERE we use them for our service and supplies etc They tend to deal with the trade - but are quite close to you and well worth a try HTH Steve
  3. Rob Henry Potter and Boxalls are different companies - HP is more of a service/repair place - he is a little rough and ready but know's LR's IMHO Boxalls use to do service/repairs but now only supply spares - hes not as cheap as paddocks but can get anything you need Hope this helps Steve
  4. I hav used him for bits and pieces - very good has lots of old stuff there Or try Henry Potter at West Dean - even more old fashioned and maybe cheaper HERE Also chichester 4 x 4 are very good They all know land rovers inside out Steve
  5. Nige You have such a good way with words ! Steve
  6. Simon Tempted but a bit far for me and also trying to get mine welded and MOT'd and fixed after the Slindon RTV and challange! Steve
  7. Easy to fit Works well - much better than the standard unit No cleaning drum out Easy to adjust All round much better than the original BTW I have no connection with X Eng other than I brought one 2-3 years ago and never looked back or regretted ! Steve
  8. I've recently done this on mine when clocking a drop pto Made mine from a TD and TDI straight through - noisy but sounds to biz ! Heres a LINK Steve
  9. The dimple thing is becoming popular in construction - we are starting to use it alot in stair treads and landings etc Steve
  10. Nice work Paul Interested in your shot blasting not polishing the fairlead - I had a similar problem I got shot blasted by mistake - very harshly SA2.5 but managed to get to a satin finish using scotch bright and loads of elbo grease Of course after a few uses the plasma polishes it anyway Steve
  11. Great pictures and countryside - thanks Steve
  12. Thanks for the replies I will have to have a closer look - it appears to have sprayed out rather than boiled - I have recently replaced the pressurised hoses so don't think its that side. Also Mr Fridge as us say the hose will be as cheap as chips so will replace them and the clips Thanks Steve
  13. My power steering has leaked - looks like the pipes - but not on the pressurised side I've not had chance to have a proper look yet I completed in a trial and challenge at Slindon a couple of weeks ago - always hard on a car and was away skiing last week Anyway I managed to get well and truly stuck and could not move the steering at all at one point. After this the steering was working fine though I washed the car a put it in the garage that night Later in the week I had a look at it to find a pool of hydraulic oil under the car - it appeared to be coming from the larger pipe from the hose from reservoir to pump from both hoses But does not appear to have split - the hoses are only held on with jubilee clips - and it’s not leaked anymore and the power steering seems to work fine So anybody got an idea whets happened ? - is there a major problem ? Any input would be appreciated Steve
