So it seems it's not just a case of changing the internalls, Cheers john

Could any of you knowledgeable fellas tell me if by changing the internalls in my td5 turbo I can make it a hybrid, or is the whole thing different. If it is a case of changing the internalls can you tell me what I need please. Thanks john

also don't forget the "O" ring that's on the other end of the shaft , that one sits in the casing rather than the on the shaft its self , this one should be changed at the same time

castor corrected radius arms causing vibration
stripy posted a topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
hi guys I have a 2" lift on my 90 and have always had standard radius arms, but with big bore shocks they are very close to the dislocation cones. a mate was selling some qt 3 caster corrected arms , so I stuck them on and the shocks sat in the middle of the cones , job done I thought , then I start to get a vibration , thinking it was more to do with the front prop I disconnected it , vibration was almost gone just a real tiny bit nothing to worry about . so I thought I would treat myself to a pair of wide angle props, when they arrived put them on and the vibration was back, took the front prop off vibration gone . now I have changed the front radius arms back to standard its all fine again , just that tiny bit of vibration that which I don't think is anything to worry about. any ideas as to why I'm getting vibration with qt3 arms .................is there something else that's causing it that I'm missing cheers john -
nice thread jeff looking forward to seeing it in the flesh,

When you unplug the maf the ecu goes to a default setting Plus 1 on what andy said.

Check your hoses that go to your turbo and intercooler they may be collapsing. With the bonnet up rev the engine and watch the hoses.

stripy replied to SPendrey's topic in Getting out and about
I'll be there , not selling though as there's no time to sort my quality pre loved items out, Probably buy something that I never realised that I needed as usual -
Cheers Andy I think I'll do as you And let it develop. ...lol

hi the steering on my 90 has got a stiff bit as you go right hand down, even if your a little right hand down then turn the lock further it will tighten again but only the initial pull on the steering wheel, then its fine. left hand down is no problem , steering shaft is good ujs also good . is there any adjustment I can make ? do you think its steering box or pump playing up ? cheers john
