  3. The airlocker makes such a difference, this is actually the perfect machine to teach noobs how to offroad. What difference lines, lockers and 'bumping' obstacles makes output.mp4
  4. Already have one of those on the shelf 😁 this one is actually my spare for the front of the 80" but I have somehow matured so I don't really break much stuff anymore 🤷
  5. Another addition is this brake lever and master. Its going to be operating the rear drums: This is like a safety brake and shouldn't really be used. But the thing is that the main brake is a transmission brake and works really well. However I fear that if I break the drivechain or something in the gearbox I would'nt be able to stop the thing. So having one operating directly on the wheels aswell will be a nice safety feature
  6. Got an exhaust tip made and fitted, and then I mounted up the wheels this is going to run for now, Some nice Trelleborg 285/80's on the S1 rims 😁 making it as narrow as possible at 152cm and a total length of 260cm. Oh and the height is only 140cm

Thanks for the input guys 👍 We once tried positive pressure in the dizzy but the problem with (at least all the dizzy I've had) is that they're really not sealed very well down the shaft, so not only will pressure be leaking into the engine but this is also where a lot of the moisture comes from IMO, simply condensation from the engine rising into the dizzy just like it does in the valve covers. So no dizzy at all would surely be the best solution. Its just that an old school Diesel just doesn't care, so much easier to use in a moist environment. But the real problem is the muddy water we drive in here. Just like liquid sandpaper, it ruins all seals, starters, alternators bearings etc. And because the bottom is mud we get stuck a lot and hold still for a while and that's where the water really seeps in everywhere. A river crossing with nice clean water and a good bow-wave is much better. But we just don't have that in Denmark.. Details please Arjan I know nothing about that engine
  8. Today I found a place for my portable compressor. Didn't want it permanently fitted to this, so i fitted and old metal basket and bungee'd it on. Ran the wires to the battery and will use the croc clips for connection so its easy to remove and bring along.
  9. Obviously you're right, but adding electronics to solve an electrical problem really isn't my kinda thing.. Actually this Summer I just smeared silicone grease everywhere all over the dizzy and leads and it ran like a sowing machine for almost a full day of water fun. Eventually the heat and water had washed some of it away and a couple of droplets have found their way into the dizzy
  10. I guess fitting an ARB locker to something like this is a bit overkill.. but I had a spare 10 spline unit in a S2 diff so why not?🤷‍♀️

Thank you very much for the kind words guys, they're really not deserved 😊 Haha Yeah well I suppose living in the garage would be a bit more comfy Downunder than up here, at least during winter I'm very picky when it comes to my partner, rather wait for the right one and I think I found just that, Just like me she was born into Land Rovers so going to club meetings is just as high a priority for her as it is for me so I really can't complain.. Don't get me wrong, she ain't perfect. But by God neither am I

Thanks, yeah I know right 😮 Anyways the thing is still going great, but driving style has changed a bit, I'm beginning to slowly move away from the big climbs and into the mud and deep water so the dizzy'ed and carb'ed V8 is as suited asnymore.. Have been comsidering a move to the darkside, but as we all now nothing beats a V8 so I'm unsure.. If I do go Diesel I would want something I can fit to the LT95 so that kinda limits my options a bit
  13. Was working on the rear brakes today, you've got to love old materials and craftsmanship. Was able to completely refurb the brakes only by cleaning stuff 💪

  15. Its not fast by any means, but entertaining in its own right, really weird feeling, is sitting way down close to a 35" tyre they seem huuge

  17. They're just bolted onto the original rocksliders on the buggy so everything can be unbolted and the whole thing made narrower if I so wish
  18. A little update on this, not many things have changed really, I'm still just abusing it Replaced the seats a while back for some that are waterproof. But now I finally had it with mud getting thrown in your face constantly from the wheels so I fitted some larger archers and made some rocksliders (not needed as that though because of Buggy) to hold the archers and give them some stability :
  19. Which brings us to now. The garage is much better equipped now and I threw on a new roof, so this got put aside all Summer. But now I'm finishing it with all the small odds and ends, this walkaround video shows some details:
  20. Bought some cheap airbags of eBay and some cheap shocks for a trailer, and got the first test-drive in, cool little thing, sitting in the ground wheeling Then fitted some old 35"s and low and behold, its doesn't even notice your driving in a soggy plow-field, it just drives on top:
  21. Well yes, its been a while.. Doesn't mean I've been spending all of my time on the couch though. Long story short, I moved in together with my girlfriend in a new (to us) house last fall. And there's a decent size shed but leaky roof and no tools (nor a proper place to store them because of said roof). But anyways I told my GF that unless she wanted to live together with the most grumpy guy, sitting on needles all restless. I had to have some sort of project in the garage.. And thankfully she's completely cool with that So I had no tools, no money and nothing to build from, perfect start right? I had some scrap lengths of box section, a box of SKF Johnny Joints and some S1 axles that I couldn't sell.. So this is what I came up with: Now the T-case is actually from what I bought to power the thing: A twin cylinder 600cc MAG engine on a good old IRUS gearbox, this is good and proper HD stuff from back when quality wasn't a word but a standard. And the T-case is from the sweeper itself
  22. Nice, Doka's too! Oh now I want a 404 again... Anyways Elie, you'd have to be more specific as those two axles have nothing in common. An overlooked axle from the Mog world is the "clamshell" type from the 411 or 423. These are narrower so nobody wants them, but in reality once you've made disc brake conversion and fitted the large mud tyres you want they have the perfect width for a Land Rover. You can get these for next to nothing and they are constructed just like the 406/416 axles and equally strong, just narrower
