Maverik
Hi folks, (D1, 300tdi, 1997) after having a strange issue since end of last summer where with the ignition turned on the interior lights would flash 6 times and then go off. Worked fine with no ignition, but as soon as you turned it on it flashed etc. After doing some googling I found a few other instances where people had this happen but couldn't put repair down to anything specific. Any how this morning a swapped the MFU over for a second hand one and that seemed to sort the issue. On opening the faulty MFU you can see what looks to be surface mounted (I think) resistors which look a bit odd, might try replacing them if I can work out what they actually are... sierrafery
They look like fusible SMD resistors(based on the R near them on the PCB) if you want to fix it you'll have to open a good MFU to see what was the value of the blown ones, see this
Maverik
So to update this, I changed the MFU out with a 2nd hand unot and it seemed to sort the problem out... right up until last night when the problem started again... So back to the drawing board and doing some further googling, I ended up pulling out fuse #12 in the drivers side footwear fusebox, cured the ignition on flashing, but the lights now only go off on the standard timer as opposed to when t he ignition is switched on, turns out fuse 12 is part of the ignition "key in" switch circuit which makes sense, so I'm now wondering if it's somthing to do with a poor signal from the ignition switch... Maverik
on closer inspection it was fuse #13 not #12 as previously mentioned.
