Bandog
Earth blocks from toolstation. For pence. Plated brass, solves where to put all earth leads. I have put these on both rear light pods, and under the dash.
simonr
I've used quite a lot of these! I've attached CAD files for 3D Printed shrouds to insulate the blocks. They have a way-higher current rating than most connectors. I've used Pin type crimp connectors to terminate the wires and clamped them in the holes, much like a connector block. They've proven reliable even in a moist Defender over long periods. Bandog
Excellent. Is it me,or am I now seeing much brighter lights now that the earth's are sound?

DaveSIIA
Tinning the ends of the wires and screw in to the block would improve long term reliability.
davie
As somebody much wiser on wiring than me always reminds me, never good practice to see bare copper wire like that, trim end to fit connector and perhaps heat shrink to make tidy. Bowie69
Great idea, slightly iffy execution then, I guess
Bandog
Quote Earth wires it doesn't matter at all. The live feeds are all insulated
Peaklander
It not some much that you are protecting the conductor from shorting somewhere, it's more that you should try to prevent ingress of moisture to any connection. In this case the crimp itself.
Bandog
That's why we put tiger seal in the inlet cable hole in the tub. I will put spray grease on the whole thing

Don't tin, use crimp on ferruls as in the following link. Tinning screw terminals is not great for long term reliability. I used to tin for neatness too. http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/29861/tinning-wires-that-will-be-screwed-in-to-a-chocolate-block-terminal-strip
Bandog
I would put weetabix on it, just for a silly response mate
