SvBeek Posted March 9, 2017 Share Posted March 9, 2017 I've recently bought a used mech lock device. I'm thinking about what would be a good place to install it in my defender. Obviously because of the route of the clutch pipe somewhere in or around the bulkhead would be good. Does anyone have pics or a description of where they fitted theirs? cackshifter Posted March 17, 2017 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Fitted mine on the bulkhead just to the right of the fusebox. The install instructions suggested you remove the large rubber grommet there and fit it through there. It's (from memory) about 30mm to the right of the edge of the fusebox coverand up a bit from the knob. Then you remove the short steel pipe from m/cyl to to the hose, and replace it with piping to & from the mechlock valve. I could you get you pics tomorrow if need be.
