This is my first post and I know that much has been covered about the HDC light before but I haven't found any reference to my exact problem so please read on. Had my 53 plate 1.8 for a couple of months and had the TC/HDC lights on from the start, easily fixed with a new brake light switch which is why I didn't worry and bought it anyway. After that the HDC light would come on from time to time completely at random so I pulled the wires from the 1st gear switch and cleaned up the terminals. Now the light comes on very occasionally but only if I'm pootling around at walking pace, say in a car park. I have made sure that there is some slack in the cable at the throttle body to ensure that it closes fully, but I have now run out of ideas. Anybody have any thoughts?
