Dunc
Hi everyone, Clutch in my Disco is like a switch, on/off and feels like it only has to move about an inch at the pedal! She's a 'J' plated 3.5i V8, obviously on a manual 'box. LPG has got the dash board petrol/LPG switchy over thing with level indicator if that makes any difference! Q1. I suspect the slave cylinder is responsible for the short clutch. What do you think? Q2. Does the LT77S (i think mine is ?) have the clutch fork problems where the slave punches through it like the early 90/110 did or was it on the R380? Q3. Anyone recommend a good LPG dealer near Hereford so i can have my system serviced or give me the gen so i can have a crack at it myself? Thanks very much
Les Henson
If it's an LT77, then a tin clutch fork. R380 has a cast iron item. To test the hydraulics - clamp the clutch flexi hose and then press the pedal. If it only moves a few mm and is then solid - the master is ok. Could then be the slave, but also the clutch itself. Dunc
Hmm, hope it's not the clutch itself. Thanks Les, i'll do the 'clamp' test.
pw8757
Can I suggest you have a look at my post "Absolutely Outstanding Service" regarding PartsRange? I know its a bit of a hike from you, but I went there from North Yorkshire and it was well worth the time. Whilst I was there, I met a chap who had come down from Cumbria!! Dunc
Partsrange, better known as RPi. My missus was on their website for a while modelling one of their t-shirts; we used to get bits from them. Anyhow, it would cost more than the truck's worth going that far to get the lpg serviced! Thanks for the suggestion though.

disco_al
Depends on what needs doing for the lpg service really. if it's a check over and inspection you are looking at about £120. there are a few specialists about town though, one that springs to mind is Landi (UK), they are out at Dorstone. Yellow Pages is the other option. If it's a retune (depends on the system fitted) then there is plenty of info on the web on how to do it yourself. Dunc
Thanks chaps. The pedal feels lke everything is working (which it all does) just not proper travel. Slave is only £8 so i'll get one.
