Mo Murphy
There is a circular hole of about 2.5 inches diameter in the passenger footwell of my TD5 bulkhead. What is normally used to blank this off ? Thanks in advance Mo
western
http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=38064 the 2 holes shown in the link above ? reckon they are for wiring looms.
Mo Murphy
Yup, the bigger one Ralph. I suspect there may be a blanking grommet or plate for this.
western
can't see anything in my microcat, could be for the underdash air condition unit pipework or wiring.
Mo Murphy
I don't think that it's used all the time Ralph as the footwell mat has a corresponding hole partially punched in it, to be removed if necessary but is intact. Odd that there's nothing in microcat Mo
reb78
I dont have one of those - 1989 110 CSW. However, with holes like that, i find a bit of gutter mastick round inside and a flat peice of plastic like a bit cut to sice from the lid of an ice cream tub does the job at sealing them. Happyoldgit
Yes, there's a large blanking grommet fitted in there. I remember it well as I found it missing in one of my TD5's and had it replaced under warranty - I may still have the part number.
Happyoldgit
Doesn't show location of No25 in this diagram...
Mo Murphy
Thank you Steve, that looks like it ! Mo
Happyoldgit
I'll see if I can confirm that number Mo - I may still have the original invoice but will need to dig fairly deep in the 'past motors' file.

Andrew Chua
that large hole in the passenger side is for the air con pipe work. the condenser drip pipe goes thru there as well. good and nice place to get it choked up with mud and then the water starts dripping into the footwell and you wonder what happened. kingrat
I have looked on MC and have been unable to find the part number for that grommet and also the one just to the passenger side of the gearbox tunnel. I suspect they are both for A/C pipework now thats been said. Mine are blanked with gobo atm, but the correct grommets would be a nice to have.
