Austineer Posted July 30, 2011 Share Posted July 30, 2011 Having a problem with Freelander 2. The malfunction warning highlighting 'transmission fault'. Have checked with LR and confirmed fault with Control Unit-H on the rear diff. However LR are very relunctant to tell me the part number - so can any one help please? Also seems that as this is relatively new model there are no alternative suppliers for this part -- price new as quoted by LR £587.71 --- should have kept the TD5. Michael Ottewell Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 I have this warning while on vacation in Norfolk with a touring caravan. There doesn’t appear to be any difference in vehicle performance or traction. However I am planning to hitch up and tow the van back to Staffs today. My Freelander 2 is 12 plate and less than 60K miles. Regular service couple of months ago. Including new clutch. So if this is a major fail, I shall be very disappointed – to say the least.
