wanderlust4ever Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Iam going to be changing the oils im my front and rear diff, can anybody tell me if i can use FULLY SYNTHETIC oil like Millers TRX Synth 75w90 or just stick to Mineral oil EP 75w80 GL5. True, but we're talking diff's and I don't belive there are any bronze type bits in them - but yes an important note. GL5 products have addatives that can attack brass/ phospher bronze type meaterials - so don't put them in your gear box/ transfer box. PS_Bond Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 For the 300TDi Defender, the manual specs EP90 (or 80) GL4 or GL5 for the transfer box, GL5 for the "final drive units" (and the swivels, with a mention of Molytex EP00 for later vehicles).
