It's looking great. At the moment I'm not going to put a rear window in as it makes life easier with iva but I'm able to put one in at a later date if I wish. They might be just the right size... The only problem is they are *somewhere* in the black hole which is my shed. Daan Only the unequal angle used for the gutter came from B&Q most my metal comes from metal supermarket. As for money I have very little this truck is being built on a shoe string my total cost is planned to be half the average build cost. The "workshop" is a 6m x 5m prefab garage with the ibex and a crashed mini Marcos (currently under a bench to free up some space) in there so there's not much in the way of space. I am just a normal(ish) bloke who builds boats for a living. But thank you all for your kind comments it certainly helps keep the momentum. In short the line goes to the rear cross member round a snatch block to a chassis mounted block then into a tube which ends at the front cross member. This is the same dash I made for 45 four year's ago so I'm happy it works. Also managed to get the rear axle out of the 110 now need to check it over, disc convert it and paint it. miketomcat Posted January 3, 2014 Author Share Posted January 3, 2014 I think I may of found a pair of standard props that will work so if anyone has a def tdci front prop, a def 90 td5 rear prop(should be the same length as tdci so is a back up) or a post 02 110 td5 rear prop they can measure open and closed that would be great. On a progress note I've made some progress over xmas all the pedals are in along with the steering column. The A frame has new bushes and ball joint so rear axle just needs disc conversion and paint it's already bolted up under the ibex as I don't have enough room to paint it any where else. The heater is all in bits getting a bit of love and I've hung the loom through the bulkhead to start working out where all the wires go. mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ibex94 Posted January 5, 2014 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Hi Mike, Just bear in mind Land Rovers have an "Imperial" based chassis length, John went metric with the Ibex. I learnt this to minor expense and significant frustration when I bought, refurbished and had rebalanced a stock Disco rear shaft only to find it wouldn't fit by some 40mm - Disco wheelbase - 100" = 2541mm - Ibex 250 = 2500mm Still it only cost £60 to get the prop modified - If you want details let me know I would recommend them if you don't have a local specialist.
