Julian.bond
What's the closest thing to Dum Dum nowadays? I've seen some tech sheets that prescribe dum dum and covering with tape. What kind of tape are they talking about. I want to start sealing all the usual suspects up, foot wells, upper body lower body waist section at the rear, and the doors! Any advice would be much appreciated!
Quagmire
Seam sealing is normally done these days with polyurethane like Sikaflex or Tiger seal. Filling actual proper gaps I have no idea on though...
miketomcat
You can fill a large gap with sikaflex or similar by taping across the gap with making tape then smear the sealant across the tape minimum thickness of 3mm. Leave to cure (sika cures 1mm per day) then peel tape off if it sticks moisten with either water or if really stuck white spirit (wait as long as possible before using white spirit as it can soften the sika).
