1973jim
Hi all, 73 2 door Classic 3.5 V8. Replaced old centre silencer but there is quite an apparent blow where the the down pipe meets the inlet of the centre silencer. There was no gasket in place when I disassembled the old box. Should there be a gasket at this junction and if so please could anyone point me to the correct part ? For ID purposes the box inlet had a triangulated flange with three stud holes. Thanks in advance, Jim

GW8IZR
The repair operations manual doesn’t even suggest exhaust cement, just clean it and dry fit.
Ally V8
Many replacement exhausts are poorly made and are welded up out of line or with badly made joints. I recently had to cut and shut a "High quality" centre silencer for a v8 P38Range Rover.Invalidated the warranty, but what can you do ? 1973jim
Great thanks - think I'll weld the old inlet to the new box.
