Davewillb
Hi, I just bought an 04 Freelander petrol privately with eyes wide open because I had one a while ago and liked it despite a few problems. This one has a full service history by main dealer and is low milage so I'm hoping to have it for a while. The guy I used to go to for some repair work has closed and I need to find someone who knows Freelanders, hopefully reasonably local to me in the middle of Norfolk - any recommendations please? JSF are an option and I trust them but would like another possibility a bit closer ideally. thanks, Dave
Dezzie
Hi. Not sure if you know about these. Never used them, as it's not my area. They seem to know what they're talking about. Not sure if they're expensive or not. They're over your way. http://www.freelanderspecialist.com/contact-us Hope it helps............. Matt. Davewillb
Hi, thanks Matt for that link, looks useful potentially .......and typically it just got a bit more urgent, it overheated 2 miles from leaving home, it's not short on coolant and has had the head gasket done, bottom hose and radiator were cold so I'm hoping it's the thermostat which is the updated version in the hoses (2004 MY)..... Fingers crossed! Dave
Davewillb
Just to update, went to see the people at Freelanderspecialist today, came away impressed and the Freelander booked in for some remedial work while I'm on hol in a few weeks time. At the moment it's looking as though there's not too much fundamentally wrong but early days yet to be saying that I guess. I did buy a new (genuine parts) coolant reservoir while I was there, mine has some cracking around the screw threads the top filler cap fits on, it's not leaking coolant as the cracks are above the coolant level, but probably it is leaking cooling system pressure. Davewillb
Just to finish this one off, the Freelander came back all sorted as promised and bang on the price quoted - great service, we are well pleased and recommend these people.
