speedo drive

Hi

I am in the process of changing my transfer box from the standard 1:6 (on carriagewaus she really needs a sixth gear or overdrive or) to a 1:2 that Iv'e managed to get but can anyone tell me which new drive gear I will need to keep the speedo correct. I have a 300tdi, LT77 and will be running 265/75/16 tyres.

Those small housing are a right pain to remove and that's with the transfer box on the floor god only know how you would get them out with the tbox on the vehicle.

As the drive gear is driven by the transfer output shaft, unless you change the tyre size or diff's you don't need to change it from stock.

Thanks the one iv'e taken out of the 1:2 box is brown/red 23 teeth but according to the info I have 23 teeth should be black and red 24 teeth no brown ?

To be honest, LR speedos are so inaccurate, stick whatever. You have in, get a GPS speedo app on your phone and the test against the needle.

Swap around until closest...

for the size tyres your using fit the blue FRC3310 gear 20 teeth.

So blue will be fine with the 1:2 transfer box. At about. £25-£30 ea I don't really want a collection.

you can get it much cheaper than 25 quid Craddocks list it at £11.76 plus VAT & postage
