Hi guys.  Got a Freelander 1 year 2000.

When I lock the car, the horn gives off a little "Bib".  I obviously understand that this is built in, to tell me that there is a door or boot open.  Brilliant idea!  Except, - I've not got a door or boot open, or a window  Car is completely shut.

Please help.  Before I push it into the Canal !  Is there a way I can turn this off?

Thanks a lot ........................ Matt.

The way to turn it off will be to find out what is making it think something's open.

I don't know how it senses the windows (I suspect it only really knows the boot window status) but the doors are likely sensed by the interior light switch contact on each one. Don't forget there's one under the bonnet, and if it's a 2-door there's a sensor/switch for the hood or hard top being in place or not.
