Bosch Mondeo Alternator connection 'W'

Recommended Posts

Hi Chaps1

I am without the 'W' wire connection on my Bosch Mondeo alternator to connect to a Rev counter

on my 200 TDi.

I have found info here http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=9408 but

I just want some confirmation as it is a different make of alternator, mine is a Bosch 90Amp BB93-10300-AE

from a Mondeo 1.8.

I dont know whether 1,2 & 3 are mounting bolts or from the windings?

Here is the pic.

Any help welcome!

Regards

Gary

See the odd crimped bits round the edge? Your number 2 has one either side... I found that these were the bits I needed for a W signal. Drill a tiny hole in one and screw a self tapper in to get a 'stud' to which a ring terminal can attach.

Hi Simon, these for the super fast reply, do you

mean these marked/ They look like a crimp with the wire broken off?

  • 4 weeks later...

Just to add it matters which crimped bit you use.

I tryed a lower one first and my rev counter was all over the place! I went with the one nearest the D+ stud and its fine now.

This should be attached to the land rover mondeo alternator thread coz i thought my new alt was useless till i read this.

BIG THANK YOU to Gary and Simon :i-m_so_happy:
