Quick Question, does any one know if this Rev Gauge VDO Vision tacho will work with a 200Tdi. Stadard alternator i presume!! western Posted January 11, 2006 Share Posted January 11, 2006 (edited) Should be, IIRC the LR rev counters are actually VDO units, mine is connect a signal cable to the 'W' terminal on the back of the alternator [100amp Marelli on my 200Tdi] If your Alternator doesn't have a 'W' terminal a good auto electrician should be able to fit a suitable connector for you to use. connect the rev counter gauge illumination to the existing gauges. read THIS Edited January 11, 2006 by western Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you do not have a tach lead on the alternator you just need to tap into one of the raw AC signals from the stator. This picture is my alternator. The blue wire goes to the tach.
