Orgasmic Farmer
Does anyone know if the strip that holds the door glass and attaches to the winding mechanism is available as a seperate part. The bit I need is the sprung steel channel with a rubber strip inside it that is a tight fit on the lower edge of the door glass. Part number would be great thanks Mark
cipx2
Yes, the rubber strips and the channels are available separately. For part #s you need to tell what year is your Discovery and which door, front or rear.
bobtail4x4
They are about £11, tip dont bother stipping the door down, just clean the bottom of the glass, lower the window half way. then run a bead of body sealant in the new channel. put the chanel on the glass and use the motor to lift it in place, wait a few hours and its fixed. Orgasmic Farmer
Thanks for the replies. Its a 1996 300 tdi drivers door (2 door commercial). As a temporty fix I have done what you suggest with the old channel. Cut the rusty bits off, put some silicone in the rubber and stuck it back on!! Its working so far!
