leigh
I'm planning on changing the oil in my gearbox and transfer box. (1991 2.5 petrol ninety - so LT77 and LT230 I assume...) I have looked at various guides but none mention what size the copper washer is on the drain plug(s). I rather get one before taking the plug out and finding its knackered! I guess I'll need one for each of the drain plugs on the gearbox and one for the transfer box? Also, on the taper filler plugs, is a couple of wraps of ptfe tape a good idea? Any help appreciated Leigh

mmgemini
As long as the copper washers are full copper washers and not the crushable type I'd just anneal them. I think you'll find the sump washer is crushable. For the sump i'd be throwing the normal drain plug away and fitting onme of those from Difflock. Much easier to do the oil change.
