FridgeFreezer
Use the search box at the top right for "buying", turns up loads of topics (over 25) on buying freebies, obviously some advice will not apply to yours but most will have something relevant. Mr Bean
Are you sure that model is correct? Td4 is probably the best buy and so is a manual version. Did you buy anything?
FridgeFreezer
I beg to differ, I reckon the 1.8 is the best buy exactly because everyone is terrified of the head gasket going, they're often significantly cheaper than the diesels and not so bad to run as long as you keep an eye on the coolant level. Leadbelly
Yes we did buy one ended up going on a tangent, Ended up with a uk model that we have to pay import tax on and needs a few jobs. Freelander TD4 registered sept 2005 total including import tax £4,100. Rear diff has a leak, rear light glass broken, bonnet light scratches seems to have had a cat living on it, three different tyres with vibration and most importantly of all according to the wife no sidesteps. Other than that it,s very clean and tidy. So in the last three weeks we have bought a Disco and a Freelander, looking for advice and help on any of the above problems especially the side steps Leadbelly

The tyres i would replace all 4 with a good brand and get the balancing and tracking checked. Apart from those few jobs it sounds like you got a bargain at that price!!!! Blippie
I'd get the tyres done quick. Mrs Blip is tiny and needs sidesteps to get in the Defender bug can't imagine how small she would have to be to need sidesteps for Freelander! Cheers Bluppie
Leadbelly
I have to say in relation to the side steps it's not that Mrs Leadbelly is small and NEEDS them to get in and out of the vehicle,in the same breath she dose not need a wardrobe full of clothes that she feels she has to add to almost daily and as regards the hairdressers lets not go there However things are a-foot in this house just recently she has bought me a reclining chair and brings me beer as i'm watching sport with no prompting whatsoever. She has now become an expert at cutting the lawn, jumping up and down on the wheelie bin to compact the rubbish AND NOW she wants to introduce a young blond swedish woman into the bedroom. I feel it is best in relation to the side steps to accommodate her whims, ALL ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY RECEIVED. Leadbelly
