Buying a TD4 Kalahari

Hello all,i've just registered and typically i'm in need of a bit of expert help!

I've got the option top buy a 2003 Freelander TD4 Kalahari from a mate. I know a bit about Land Rovers from my series 3 days, but i'm not sure what i should be looking out for on this model. Are there any really bad things to look out for, i know the rear windows don't go down (something about a broken plastic clip?)? What are these things worth, it's black, very clean body wise, half leather, sidesteps, 2 owners 77K with plenty of t&t.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Buying advice has cropped up numerous times, just have a read back through this forum or search for "buying advice".

As for what it's worth, a lot depends on what's wrong with it - if the VCU is seized, rear window is dodgy or the ABS/ETC is faulty you could be in for a bit of a spend (none of them are too bad, but they're the most likely pricey items).

Just before Crhimbo I paid £1000 for a 2001 TD4 GS with a few faults (ABS + VCU being the headline ones), from what I've seen since it'd probably go for around £2300 on eBay now it's up together, I've seen them on dealers forecourts for 4k+, and if it snows you can double all the prices  so take your pick really.
