I've just done mine and I used a garage press to fit it , lined it up and tapped it square with a drift then used a press to push it home and don't forget the thrust washer in the bottom of the bush . But make sure you don't fit two as it's a bugger to set the preload , don't ask how I know .

This is exactly what I keep thinking. Can get a second hand L322 with the 4.4V8 diesel for under £20k now and one with the 3.6V8 well specced and not astronomical miles (often sub 100k miles) for less than £10k! They will do most things the new defender will do at less cost and probably more refinement? And... for some reason they seem to have fewer problems/better reliability than the same age discoveries and RRS and are easier to work on. I am just waiting for one to come up near me at the right price....

And not find it for a full week !

I think it's important to acknowledge good service when you get it... most of the wires and connectors etc I got from Autosparks. They had accidentally missed off my relay bases from my order when then box arrived (an understandable mistake given the quantity of stuff on the pick list for my order to make both the main and chassis harness). I also had missed a one or two wires off my order due to my mistake. I emailed them to let them know about the mistake with the relay bases. I bought this from V8 Freak, partly for a laugh but also because the pickup type bed will make it a useful vehicle for going out with the chainsaw/fencing/spot spraying for docks etc etc. It will also cope with the steeper portions of our land fairly well considering the roll cage etc. Its on a RRC chassis and bulkhead and I bought a 3.9V8 from Mo to go in it. Bit of fun for not too much money at the end of the day. Just need COVID to be over so Neil can visit again and help me finish the wiring!

First test run with the Elring comp gasket and everything is back to normal. No more overheating, no more enormous pressure in the cooling system. All good!

In my old/new 200 nozzles? I think they're the same, 300 looked a smidge bigger but they're smaller than a hair so hard to tell.. After putting a few miles on these DTP nozzles I'd be happy to recommend, 15 quid+vat at Derwen Diesels. The old bosch weren't terrible to be fair, 150k+ miles on mostly African fuel so hats off, pretty good going. if the fairies had swapped nozzles overnight I wouldn't really notice, but the new ones run with less smoke under load and I've been able to turn the fuel up to where it used to be without chugging smoke out. Could really do with a good run to see

Turners use Elring gaskets on their engines (I asked) , though I am with the OP in that in theory at least the MLS should last better and withstand more boost; Reinz offer some diagostics...https://www.victorreinz.com/en/service-downloads/practical-information/mls-cylinder-head-gaskets-and-damage-analysis.aspx?region. Maybe if you do try MLS again try a different brand? I think the best thing is to change the Elring one every now and again or something like that. Re the bolts, they do feel terrible when tightening. I use a wee bit of moly grease under the heads to try to make things a bit smoo

Isn't that how the Pinz 6x6 is set up? We have had no issues with any of the G wagen re-builds having a side exit in front of the rear wheel. Both DVSA and MoT have been okay. Essentially big, long silencer with short 3" exit. The 606 sounds gorgeous, especially under load
