Thank you for this Steve - you’ve fixed it.
I did consider and (erroneously) disregard the AFM at the start of the issue. I’ve only ever had them just completely fail though, i.e go to zero reading - and whenever I plugged in the nanocom I was getting numbers in the right range.
I wasn’t able to notice the intermittent issues in the pattern of the numbers - and I didn’t go back to it as it got worse (where I might have done).
It’s so helpful to have fresh eyes to remove your own blind spots 🙏🏻
So it’s driving nicely with it unplugged - and I’ve a new one arriving in the post today.
Thank you again
I have pondered that - but the implements aren’t there to work on a normal tow ball with a pto …
I know you’d just scratch build a three point linkage ! That’s way beyond me though 😍
there are tow behind flail mowers (made for quads) and even mini forage/balers - but they aren’t cheap ….
Oh yes - for an ornament/toy I don’t think you can beat a Grey Fergie or an MF35.
For working the MF135 is an absolute classic. My farmer friends call it things like ‘the hardest tractor ever made’ 😊
There was an MF 35 model that had a dual clutch too - think it was called the MF35X
This is torture - I can’t tell you how much I’d like to buy a tractor 😊
I have land that needs cutting and baling, and I love old tractors, but the land is not with the house - so I’ve nowhere to put a tractor and implements, and don’t really want to just leave them out in the open.
So at the moment a contractor is cutting it in exchange for the bales.
Wow !
100% agree that they aren’t fixing it - just reducing the impact.
The basic fact is that even after the bracket is fitted - it could fail and then it’s the customer’s expense.
Surprised there isn’t some regulatory oversight that would pick that up.
My Td5 has developed intermittent boost on the turbo - sometimes it builds it really quickly and sometimes it’s just dead flat. As in foot to the floor and it just won’t build revs.
Sometimes I can down shift to build revs and get some boost - and sometimes it will just suddenly build boost as normal.
When it is on boost it seems as strong as ever.
Nanocom is giving no faults.
At first I thought the wastegate wasn’t sealing shut properly - but it actually seems to be moving really nicely.
Unlike the Td5 discovery there is no solenoid in the actuator line - it’s just plumbed straight in.
I did wonder if it could be the pipe work leaking or collapsing - but I can’t see how that would be inconsistent?
Anyone help me what could cause it ?
100% ⬆️
that’s what I meant it was worth checking the wiring.
Honestly I wouldn’t bother with injectors or the loom when you have a fault code for a part that causes the symptoms you have.
I’ve had the same experience with wd40… it’s seems to wreck all the sprayers including the one that came with it, and a number of ones I’ve bought since.
I have those yellow yellow springs with 255/85/16 and have no rubbing - I do have a modified offset to keep them away from the radius arms - and just put them out flush with the arches.
Here are the ones you can use front and rear. They aren’t expensive.

Here are the other type for the front:

It’s true that …. 🤔
Though as my eyes have got worse over the years I tend to work on the basis that the camera is just picking up things I can’t see … and it might make it look worse but there is something there 🤷
