  1. I bought mine from Amazon, specifically for the 2.1 amp output .... Blue Sea - Dual Usb Charger Socket - 2 Usb Ports W/Watertight Cap https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0082CXEI8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_dpOoub0A8GAXM Couple of years ago and it's been great. This last fitting was swapping it into my new 90.
  2. If you can only adjust one hand then it sounds like something is broken - pressing and holding the button on mine moves both hands.... My suggestion would be disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it when the clock is telling the right time. Shouldn't take more than 12 hours ?
  3. On the off chance .... Is there anyone travelling from Cambridgeshire towards Lancashire in the not too distant future ? It's for 4 tyres though - so you'd need a bit of space available ... Stephen
  4. Yes that was my only motivator ... So many things I want to buy though.
  5. I thought about buying the Dutch one .... But I actually think my lights are quite good What's wrong ?
  6. My cheekiness aside ..... .... This is sort of where I am. It's the order of magnitude - and the common denominator is of course CJ, so it does point to driving style. But to put some figures around it - where LR are citing maximum efficiency for that model at 30 mpg, and manufacturers figures are usually generous, then 38 mpg is 127% of that figure. I think there are folk on the forum who could confirm I drive 'sedately' and I certainly drive sympatheticly to the engine and running gear..... But I don't get close to a 26% increase on the stated maximum for my vehicle. So its not that I don't believe it - just that its hard to believe !
  7. Land Rover's R&D department will be in touch shortly - they want to look at your car ...
  8. Either something is amiss or he should be the proud owner of the two most economical Td5's in history
  9. I am tired - but that seems to work out to be just under 38mpg .....
  10. Thanks lewis - and you're right there are quite a few tutorials on Youtube, loads in fact. This is quite an old rope though and quite flattened. Perhaps in the short term I will duct tape it on - and when I buy my next rope use it as an opportunity to learn to splice it.
  11. That seems to be option that keeps coming up in searches - but I've no idea how to splice a rope and would worry about doing it safely / well enough. I quite like the idea of welding a half link on - though that would be best timed for when I'm pulling it all off for a service.
  12. Educating myself here : http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=19683
  13. Actually - scrub that. I've just dragged my plasma out and there is no crimped eye on it as I seemed to remember there was. So....... How to fix my plasma to my drum is my new question.
  14. What would anyone's suggestion be to source a drum screw for my winch .. It's 1/4 x 1/4 UNC. Metric equivalent is M6 x 6 coarse I think - neither seem easily available. The thread looks like it's had a bit of a hard time so I'm reluctant to try and run a standard M6 tap through it. This is for attaching a plasma by the way. Any suggestions welcome.
  15. The starter contacts do wear out ... It's not an expensive do either: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=291196737071 There are cheaper ones on ebay that weren't there when I bought a kit from the people linked - it was spot on from them though . A bit fiddly - but you can do it from underneath leaving the starter on the car.
  16. I think you'd have to ask the individual insurer ? I had a HT insured with NFU on a PLG policy and asked about windows and they weren't bothered, no difference.
  17. How about bicarb of soda with some vinegar ? Makes a mild ascetic acid - but the reaction when they are added are great for stubborn stuff ? If nothing else it'll be a very clean dead thing and may smell less for it. P.s I wouldn't do the dishwasher thing ....
  18. There is a wagon park not far from me that lets me use their ramps and hot jet wash for not a lot of money. Perhaps worth asking around ?
  19. They're great - pretty much just where I bent them to . Thank you !
  20. I am scott - and that would be helpful if you could. Les, the din fascia that fits into the middle of the dash has two spring clips - one on each side - and also it has long wire springs on the top and bottom to hold it in place.
