I've the day off and my dash out to do a few jobs and found that all behind the centre dash is full of tape, pre-insulated terminals and chaos
So whilst I'm sorting that out ... Does anyone have a picture of how the springs are supposed to be fitted into the back of the centre insert ?
They look to have been bent out of the way.

Outside is a bit of a lightbulb moment - it's a concrete sectional garage - but if I could drill two 10 mm holes in the wall I could have it all outside in the cold....
I couldn't say how much length of pipe or how many coils he had - only that they filled a large extinguisher and cured the moisture problems he was have using a blast pot.
-
That is a very sensible question - my response may not be
Space in my garage is at an absolute premium - and something taller and thinner - but with enough weight to be stable and perhaps even act as a bit of a heat sink - would be a better option.
Primarily though it's the form factor for the space and stability.
-
Ps this is Land Rover related as it will help me spray my series 1.

I know of someone who made a condenser for their garage airline by coiling copper in an old fire extinguisher full of cold water - it worked remarkably well.
I want to replicate it and have some microbore and some fitting on the way but I'm stuck for a container.
Fire extinguishers seem to be sold as collectables if they are old - or full and useable and expensive because of it.
I did think of a bit of plastic waste pipe - but they don't seem to have a cheap direct fitting blank.
So can anyone make a suggestion ?

A broken connection in there somewhere then ...

Anderzander's being polite,
You're right

38 mpg seems phenomenal !
I've gone the other way - from a Td5 90 doing 28mpg to another one doing 31mpg.
Whilst it is affected by tyres, running gear condition, and servicing - you do also seem to get engines that just perform better than others.
Here are Parkers figures : http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/land-rover/discovery/station-wagon-1998/running-costs/

Mud uk sell a puma only version of one.
I've been looking too - having moved from a HT to a CSW I'm thinking where I can get extra storage space....?

Lol genius on the plasters.

^ that's the issue I'd have - the cost.
I'd love to get an ashcroft atb and have Nige build it into a diff - but currently I could only afford to buy the diff .....
.....which often leaves me thinking of if I should have a go myself.

On my last one the seal seemed to keep failing - it may be coincidental but I binned the metal flange seal you have in that kit and replaced it with one that fits onto the outside of the casing.
It maybe coincidental but I wasn't keen on that seal and it didn't leak once I'd got rid of it.

Laquer will be 2k.
You can get acrylic 1k lacquer though can't you ?
-
Are there any unused fuses in your bulkhead fuse box you could make use of ?
You may not get the necessary current rating though - but for example on my Td5 I have a space for ABS and heated windscreen, which are 10 and 30 amps.
-
My knowledge is very limited - but 2k is the dodgy one - you can buy 1k - synthetic enamel and spray that at home.
I think the difference beside the isocynate (sp?) is that 1k air drys whilst 2k has a hardener in it.
-
Might it point to a problem elsewhere ? Perhaps wiring or the motor even ?
-
Also the definition has been stretched - I've seen things like Mk5 ford escorts for sale under the banner 'barn find' - when clearly they've never seen a barn (or shed for Mikey) in their lifetime.
More like 're-abandoned project'

The swivel is 36mm - the circlip groove is 34mm
-
I'm back home - I'll get the vernier out and order one on eBay.
-
Anyone know off hand (whilst I'm out) what size the circlip is on a standard swivel recovery eye ?
-
I need to replace a front door hinge again .... I remember that genuine is the way to go, and last time I bought a set of the job lot RJ Land Rovers had bought .... Is there much price discrepancy on genuine parts ? Anywhere that anyone might recommend ?
-
The context is I didn't take the listing off - the understanding was it would run until I received payment - as long as no one had bid.
I had thought that would keep things clear and simple - but it didn't and it became a bit messy.

I am scott - and that would be helpful if you could.
Les, the din fascia that fits into the middle of the dash has two spring clips - one on each side - and also it has long wire springs on the top and bottom to hold it in place.
