  1. I bet his boss would like to know he's sending responses to customers out like that - and I doubt his boss would find losing money even remotely humorous. I'd have been tempted to reply: 'lol - you just failed the mystery shopper test. Want to collect your belongings now or after I put the report in ? Muppet'
  2. Very interesting - would you be kind enough to share the history of your involvement with the kaiser lockers ?
  3. Can you not do anything to improve accuracy ? Is it it where you are ? Or where it's mounted ?
  4. Two reviews mention the current draw: First one says ... Second one :
  5. I have one of these to fit when it stops raining: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003XDN58K/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_at_ws_gb?ie=UTF8
  6. Looks great - well done !! For the roof paint perhaps just a decent coating in wax would be enough ? For cleaning the tape residue I've used isopropyl alcohol, it only damaged paint once and that was 50 year old paint in an old speedometer. Dare I ask ? What stopped you grinding the alloy welds smooth on the edges before you painted it ?
  7. Gosh ! That's parts washer has done a good job hasn't it. Maybe I should look at getting one.
  8. I had to drill mine off, they resisted the chisel. Some must be more firmly affixed than others.
  9. Nigel - could you let me know your thoughts when they arrive ?
  10. I bought a 2nd hand OME one a few years back and that's been good.
  11. Although a lot don't don't do the triple plate process anymore.
  12. That just means you need to knock up a little platform and that it's take up less space. I've been looking on eBay for an old built in oven to go with a home powdercoating gun - I could fit it under my bench
  13. Buy her a posh looking new oven - you have that one ?
  14. Ah-ha ! That's good info. Much clearer thank you. A half nut to find then and sort the angle mismatch out. Thank you Mr Wabbit !
  15. I may end up doing that Mo - but the reason I'm not jumping to it is twofold: the transfer know I have is pristine and has separated from an insert that is threaded and screws onto the shaft. So my concern is that if that call be pulled out of this one it perhaps can on any replacement ? and if thats the case a lock nut is pointless and I need to look into strong glues. Araldilte sounds like a good option then - thanks. I'll get some pictures and post them up - at the moment I'm considering enlarging the slot on one side of the tube that fits onto the gear lever so it more closely matches the angle the gear lever sits at.
  16. I think it's just a topic that's been done to death. The best quality springs tend to be land rover ones and is you search there is a spring list on a web site that's referenced from here a lot. It gives the spring length and poundage - so you can look what you have now and look for further options with a higher spring rate. Also referenced from this site a lot is an online spring calculator - so if you weigh your truck front and rear, deducting the un-spring weight (which you can estimate by searching on here), you can then work out what the change in ride heigh will be from fitting those springs. Shocks wise - everyone has an opinion but it's pretty much as said above. I have OME and they are excellent. The built in site search is quite poor but if you put into google:: Site:lr4x4.com hd spring list Or the like you'll find lots and lots of opinions given before
  17. How did the cab come up ? I know sofa is gentle but I guess it can still uncover surprises. I plan to use soda on my S1 - I tried some on the galvanised fitting and it did a really good job of cleaning them up well without making them look new (or damaging it of course). Be good for your Willys
  18. Maybe whoever spent all that money on it just saw that customs video ?
