I think that’s it for all of them isn’t it. For example: Yodel or Evri were always awful for everything in my experience - but they got a great driver round here for smaller parcels, and for the last few years it’s been brilliant. Whereas the Evri large parcel people lost an £800 tent - marking it as delivered, at a GPS located address 70 miles away, with a picture of a garden chair box as proof of delivery. They then did almost the same with the replacement tent sent by the company they’d lost it for and we’d bought from. They marked it as delivered to us, with a picture of a completely different parcel outside a house we didn’t recognise. The company refunded us, but they lost £1600 worth of stuff and a customer - and the courier had zero interest in even listening to what had happened. The tent company depressingly said ‘happens a lot and with all the carriers’. Seems like theft to me.

Good epoxy is good … but if you want more perhaps one of the dinitrol products would offer it more protection, have a nice finish, and be something you could top up. I used the 4941 on my 90 and that’s been good. Remains semi soft so doesn’t chip - and is just requiring top up after 2 years in a couple of places where I steam clean it. -
Instagram and Facebook are full of adverts for different clamping types of grease couplings … has anyone tried any of those? I have an air powered gun and a few hand actuated ones - they are all either rubbish or I don’t know how to use them.

On the covers - @JeffR the ones near me are made by Shelter Logic. They look quite temporary- but I’m assuming they must be reasonable quality as the owner has put some quite posh cars in there?

I never got it to work on my Mac - if you figure it out, please do let me know.

I hadn’t realised that. Gwyn Lewis’ site says this for his bushing kit: -
Yes I have a set of those for mine - but I swapped to the later type nuts with having later wheels. The stud holes on later wheels are a little larger. Those double sided nuts are long but very narrow.

Thanks for sharing - looks fabulous!

I don’t quite follow your wiring - did you move the obd port up behind the dash? Or just put your wire in and run that up into the dash ? I was wondering if it was possible to interrupt it at the header between the ECU(s) and the port. Mine doesn’t have ABS - so I’m thinking there should be an empty a lot in that header.- 30 replies

Ahh - apparently it is still VdO https://www.continental-aftermarket.com/en-en/brands/vdo-is-now-continental

I ordered VDO which I’ve had good experience of … however it’s just been delivered and it’s not a VDO …..

Thank you for this Steve - you’ve fixed it. I did consider and (erroneously) disregard the AFM at the start of the issue. I’ve only ever had them just completely fail though, i.e go to zero reading - and whenever I plugged in the nanocom I was getting numbers in the right range. I wasn’t able to notice the intermittent issues in the pattern of the numbers - and I didn’t go back to it as it got worse (where I might have done). It’s so helpful to have fresh eyes to remove your own blind spots 🙏🏻 So it’s driving nicely with it unplugged - and I’ve a new one arriving in the post today. Thank you again

I have pondered that - but the implements aren’t there to work on a normal tow ball with a pto … I know you’d just scratch build a three point linkage ! That’s way beyond me though 😍 there are tow behind flail mowers (made for quads) and even mini forage/balers - but they aren’t cheap …. -

Oh yes - for an ornament/toy I don’t think you can beat a Grey Fergie or an MF35. For working the MF135 is an absolute classic. My farmer friends call it things like ‘the hardest tractor ever made’ 😊 There was an MF 35 model that had a dual clutch too - think it was called the MF35X -

This is torture - I can’t tell you how much I’d like to buy a tractor 😊 I have land that needs cutting and baling, and I love old tractors, but the land is not with the house - so I’ve nowhere to put a tractor and implements, and don’t really want to just leave them out in the open. So at the moment a contractor is cutting it in exchange for the bales. -

Wow ! 100% agree that they aren’t fixing it - just reducing the impact. The basic fact is that even after the bracket is fitted - it could fail and then it’s the customer’s expense. Surprised there isn’t some regulatory oversight that would pick that up. -
Those casters would cost a fortune.

Will this one work with a thicker penetrating oil ?

My Td5 has developed intermittent boost on the turbo - sometimes it builds it really quickly and sometimes it’s just dead flat. As in foot to the floor and it just won’t build revs. Sometimes I can down shift to build revs and get some boost - and sometimes it will just suddenly build boost as normal. When it is on boost it seems as strong as ever. Nanocom is giving no faults. At first I thought the wastegate wasn’t sealing shut properly - but it actually seems to be moving really nicely. Unlike the Td5 discovery there is no solenoid in the actuator line - it’s just plumbed straight in. I did wonder if it could be the pipe work leaking or collapsing - but I can’t see how that would be inconsistent? Anyone help me what could cause it ?

100% ⬆️ that’s what I meant it was worth checking the wiring. Honestly I wouldn’t bother with injectors or the loom when you have a fault code for a part that causes the symptoms you have.
