  1. South Essex. Nee 28/29 junction on m25.
  2. Incase anyone was interested. Swapped the body out for a csw. So tub and lockets now for sale. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195751432742?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Sf7Jv5wqRuG&sssrc=0&ssuid=Sf7Jv5wqRuG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY cheers.
  3. The screen is fiberglassed into a cut about td5 center console. the screen is a linitx screen. for more car pc stuff go to www.digital-car.co.uk and search for land rover im sure ive uploaded pics. Edd
  4. Not a truckcab but the ideas the same. Shell is made out of 4mm ply let into a frame made of softwood routed to make it 1/4 round and then rebated to take the ply. it mounts to the top two bolts of the rear view mirror and to my cage at the back though it would have been just as easy to use the mounting holes for the interior light. Theres a drop down storage tray that holds os maps (like on the arb roof console) and its now covered in light Grey vinal (i cant find a current pic now and im driving the landy to Tunisia in the morning so will sort one out in a few weeks if your interested and ive got all the sand off everything lol) the ally plates hold my computer hdd which runs my radio mp3 memory map satnav etc
  5. The damper position is definatly genuine. (the axle case etc has not been modified) and the mounting bolts were original. they are only on the right as its only the right hand damper which moves position. and they are definatly for the shock mount. I agree my 110 mountings are unusual but they are original (the 110 is registered may 1983 and was a 2 1/4 diesel)
  6. you can just see the shocks here sorry for the hijack. but got to prove im not going mad. Edd
  7. That sounds correct and is the same as mine. i only have one set on the left and two on the right you will find that if they are drilled there is also the anti crush boxing welded in as well. (this was also on the left had side as i found it whilst drilling the holes for the other top shock mount) Defiantly not a left over from export spec as mines was a 2/14 diesel hardtop uk spec.
  8. Ok. Bearing in mind my 110 is very early (2,1/4 engine number 0000067) the rear shock mounts were definatley the same as the early range rovers with one forward and one behind the axle. (ill try and dig a couple of pics out to prove it.) To be honest it did confuse me at the time as i hadn't given myself much time to do the axle swap and didn't expect to swap all the shocks around as well. Ive still got the old axle so if i cant find the pics ill grab a couple of that. Why is it with land rovers that there is always one thats different.. Edit :- i should add that the extra holes are in the drivers side only. i also believe that the early 110's with the boge strut had shocks in front of the axle
  9. That is exacly the same as how ive done it. cut down the new brackets till it fitted right. Survived a thrashing in the desert without any complaints and realy keeps the back in check. only issue ive had is that the rear shocks seem to have an appetite for the lower bushes. ive check alignment and its all good so probably down to carp bushes.
  10. On earlier 110s the shocks were mounted one forward one behind the axle. this changed i think with 300tdi. I found this when i fitted a disk salisbury to my 83 110 and had to move the shock mounts and found i already had all the relevant holes in the chassis . I have since fitted twin shocks at the rear same as jims going to do and it transforms the ride and handling whilst spreading the extra shock loadings over a large chassis area. (i have heard of twin front shocks causing the front spring mounts on the chassis to fail).
  11. Managed to get down the machine shop and knock up an adapter for the 300tdi green temp sender. Fitted and showing just under the middle of the gauge which is fine. To confirm i have routed the wiring from the sender into the speedo on pin 5 and from the speedo to the gauge on pin 9 of the second multi plug that has less wires on it. Cheers once again. First time out having driven it at night and its soo much better.
  12. Im using the original td5 loom but modified to route the temp signal through the speedo like the 300tdi row loom. will know in the next couple of days if its good but its looking good so far.
  13. Just a quick thanks to all those that have posted the tech in this thread. Just got my td5 clocks working in my 110 (200tdi). Just got to make the adapter for the green temp probe and all should be well. (Ive moved a couple of pins on the back of the speedo to correspond with the light green/blue and green/blue wires on the row loom, running the light green/blue to the temp gauge and green/blue to the temp sender on the standard i get no reading (as already mention in an earlier post) but if i short to earth it goes to full. fingers crossed that with the new sender it works) Will let you know. Edd
  14. The artigos are a great piece of kit. if they had been about 3 years ago i would definatly have used one. I have my computer based around a mini itx dual core board mounted in a custom roof console simmilarish to the arb style ones. im running a sata laptop drive and a m2 atx car power supply and its done morroco twice along with many off road trips. Screen wise is really about how much you want to spend. i run a linitx 8 inch 4:3 screen mounted in a td5 style dash. If you want real usability though the new breed of transflective screens realy are worth the extra money especially if you live or drive anywhere sunny.
  15. It depends on what engine your 90 has. From experience 300tdi and earlier are fine on Moroccan diesel (Though aditives wont hurt) later engine td5 - puma will probably benefit and smoke less with additives. Edd
  16. this is now not the case if you use the algeciras ceuta ferry. There is now no insurance office or bank on the boarder which means if you have no green card you will need to go via Tangeers. Edd

    In Car PC

8" screen moulded into the td5 style dash. computers built into the roof console (wich is now covered) I keep meaning to do a wright up. will try and get round to it. Edd
  18. they are rivited to the vertical stifners on the sides of the wheel box and i am in the procces of mking up a crossmember to support them off the chassie. (it will fit were the csw cossmember bolts on top of the chassie rails./ Edd
  19. Youve spotted my high tech secuity measures ! it doesnt half confuse people wjhen you offer them a lift
  20. Ive been after extra storage space for a while. Some of you may know that i use the 110 for trips to North Africa as well as using it as a van to lug my gear around at home (hence any mods cant compromise internal storage). I was inspired by the militray jerry can lockers and was lucky enough to pick up a pair of wolf locker doors for £10 at billing a couple of years ago. (yes it has taken that long) My main problem was that ive got rock sliders fitted. but armed with a tape measure and an assortment of jerry cans i decided that you can just fit 2 20 liter jerry cans each side. (like the transglobal expedition wolfs) just spent the last 3 days faddinbg them out of 2mm ally sheet with 3mm angle to add strength round the edge. Including consumables i think theyve cost about £50 each (foleys doe some which wont fit with sliders for £130 = vat!) I am well chuffed but was very aprehensive cutting the first hole!. And to top it off it transpires that my 110 is 4mm short in the drives side wheel box. (but the locker still just fits with a bit of overhang.) Edd
  21. Give Fortune4x4 a call in laindon. Im pretty shure theydo it. Edd
  22. problem with the southdown is that you cant fit a precleaner as the pipes only 2.5" and the top is not vertical. its looking like its going to be a custom job. one more thinbg on the list!
  23. Hi. I need a snorkel on my 110 as it is seeing more desert that i had origioanly planned. currently it has a cage fitted and was origionaly a 2 1/4 diesle so it has no vents in the side of the wings. I would like to have a snorkle similar to what the camel trophy motors have. i believed this was a mantec dex/04 snorkle 2 3/4 diameter. having contacted mantec they say it wont fit with a cage? Looking around i have found a couple of places that show them fitted with a cage. although im not shure what diameter pipe these are. idealy i need 2 3/4 to 3" pipe as i would likle the option of fitting a donaldson precleaner to it to save air filters. if anyone has any ideas of what will fit etc or if anyone has pictures of them fitting it would be great. Regards Edd Cornish
