All said, at least the guy got another vehicle, got stuck with a dead battery and had to be rescued by a Landy
I saw the programme and had the shock of my life as the landy that rescued him was built by a friend of mine in Shrewsbury ,Him and his wife travelled around europe for 9 months and then sold it to a woman from london who said she was hoping to go to Africa in it.
Hope she had her "official toyota recovery vehicle " sticker on it

Another vote for Halfords , got the 3/8 drive for low torque and also got a teng 3/8 which i don't think is as good as the Halfords one

On my ifor williams (16' flat with drop sides)the A frame is bolted to the trailer , so if you fit something like Simon's nuts to the hitch put some on the A frame as well

I've had quite a bit of success using an old liner out of a mig welder torch , there fairly flexible but you can push them through

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees , I want to use the 130 for work so don't fancy trying to keep a V8 in petrol especially with my driving style

Hello
Last night I bought a 130 chassis cab on a C plate which has a V8 and an LT85 box (factory fit) I'll post some pictures in the members vehicle section once I've collected it next week
The plan is to remove the V8 and LT85 and fit a 300tdi and R380 box , so the question is are the mounts the same or do I need to cut and carve ?
Cheers

Ralph / Mo /JBS , yes mine still has the type A wheel and column So I suppose given that the TD5 one will fit as a straight swap I better get and source one
Many thanks

I should imagine they have a few disgruntled customers

Hello folks
I have a D reg 110 and would like to fit a 300 tdi steering wheel so the question is , is it a straight swap or if it's not what other bits will I need ?
Cheers

Mine went notchy the other week and it was the u.j , it had seized solid but at least a u.j is a lot cheaper than a pas box

Mine has not come yet

Got any paint on it yet ?
I bet south wales was wet today

I've got a starrett version of the cheap one which I use for getting the angle of steel buildings and general fabrication ,it works well and have had no problems
Just make sure you've got you're vehicle on a level surface or level the vehicle up before you take any readings otherwise it will give you a false reading (apologies if I'm stating the obvious !)

I didn't put it in the members vehicles because I wasn't sure how popular it would be with the mods! Open to opinions?
Si
Well if it's oily and mechanical I say post it up I'd certainly like to have a look

100" Coiler Light Weight

Seeing as it's flat sided ,surely it would be easier to fabricate the rear body out of flat sheet and angle iron .
That way you could you standard bulkhead ,wings ,seatbox and doors and then the "bit" behind the doors/infront of the rear wheels would be longer than a normal 88" lightweight
Cheers
