  1. Hi Did you ever work out which stub axle's and axle's you had? I've got a rear axle I'm trying to identify (it's leaking on the hub seals, so I need to order parts). My stub axles look just like yours (see photo below) but I can't figure out what they are at all! Any help you can give would be appreciated. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the advice. I've decided to get a professional involved to just get back on the road My friendly local LR specialist has agreed to help out. When this is sorted the next job is brake pads. Gonna seem like a walk in the park by comparison hah!
  3. Hi Ash I'm near Kings Lynn, Norfolk. Latest news - I replaced the seal myself, which went well (although I won't know if it's spot on until I run the engine again). However, when I came to put the pump back on I realised that one of the three studs on the timing case has pulled out. Eek - any ideas on next steps? I guess I have to tap it?
  4. Oh and by the way - the reason the faceplate looked different is because... there was no faceplate! The pump had been bolted straight on without using a plate by someone in the past.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I've got the pump off. The leak was from the pump head seal. Armed with a seal kit I foolishly took the head off and all the bearings, springs etc. fell out :/ Looks like I'm shopping for a new 200tdi injector pump - that will teach me!
  6. Thanks Ash. The 9.5mm pin doesn't fit in so I'm going to have to use a drill bit. I'll give it a go Cheers
  7. Thanks for the replies both. This job (leaky injector pump) is getting bigger by the minute! I'll keep digging. I'm guessing the plate is from the original engine? If anyone else recognises this injector pump plate I'd be really grateful for some info. Thanks!
  8. Hi I've just acquired a Landrover Defender 90 with Discovery 200tdi engine and running gear. The engine has a leaky injector pump so I've bought a timing kit to enable me to remove the pump for refurb. I'm following this video on how to remove the pump: However, when I compare the mounting plate of my pump with the mounting plate from the video they are a bit different and there doesn't seem to be any place for the timing pin to go in. I've attached a photo showing the video on the left and my engine on the right. Can anyone please shed some light on this? Thanks!
