Many Thanks to all. The gearbox is due to be stripped and inspected in the next day or so, will keep you informed. In the meantime, whilst exploring all avenues, if I need to get a replacement box, any ideas where to go ? I'm also considering the TDV8.Anything I should be aware of ?

I have a 2005 Vogue TD6 auto, just over 102000 miles. The gearbox broke last week, currently being stripped and inspected. A local gearbox specialist says it is likely the clutches have burnt out. Does anyone know the expected life span of a gearbox under normal driving conditions ? Has anyone experienced this before ?
