  1. I the older TVRs used two seperate pipes all the way through with a box on the back end of it which keeps the deep sounds in and the high pitched sounds out, I find that the first box seams to remove the bass if you like.
  2. Thanks for info all, I think I'll go with 60kg for posting purposes as they dont often weigh things as long as if its heavy you state a heavyish weight. Think I've got a 30mm box socket which I bought to do a BMW flywheel up or praps its 32 Knowing the trouble I've had so far with this 110 the nuts are probably hand tight anyway
  3. Cheer, got one 7.50 posted, just hope it's up to the job. Are the front wheel bearings adjustable BTW.?
  4. Need to know the weight of a transfer box if any one knows off hand please. Also the spanner /socket size for the big nuts that hold the hockey sticks on. Ta
  5. Ordered two tyres on line, arrived as promised, cant complain and price was right.
  6. Looking good, I'll have a bash at that now with confidence Just need to get a hub hut spanner cheap..
  7. Problems are, diff has nearly a quarter of a turn slack, off side swivel has developed a knock when dropping off kerbs etc and has started to leak badly, nearside wheel has loads of play when gripped at half past twelve and rocked, dont think its wheel bearing. Need to have a look and fix it all....
  8. The search didnt help, I got steering wheel and half a turn etc but not halfshaft. Found a good bit on front hub removal and swivel replacement but how does one remove the halfshafts please anyone, or is it obvious when the hubs are off? Also what size spanner to get hub nut off, is it 52mm ? Ta in advance
  9. If the air filter badly restricts the flow then it is either too small or it is blocked. Standard filters dont restrict flow it's the design of the airbox that does that in an effort by manufacturers to silence the induction. So the K+N type filters let the motor draw more air because they dont use an airbox. If you want a K+N (no better than paper at filtering) then stick it in your air box and keep it quiet and also keeping the airflow standard. Why fit a K+N type then? methinks that you can reuse them after cleaning and oiling so cheaper, but you must clean and re oil frequently, you cant fit and forget. Methinks open K+N type filters would need the gas turning up a sniff because you have at least double the inlet size for the motor to draw on. Am I making sense
  10. he aluweld kit that I have to be the best for me as it cost only 15quid and I've used it several times. It is in the garage ready whenever I need to weld two bits of ally together, it works, no one askes to borrow it, and it only took half a stick or less to master the tecnique so it works for me. One day I'm going to try it on Landy panels
  11. I can also vouch for Frost's Lumiweld kit. I've made good strong welds with it and none have broken yet even though one weld is holding a caterham exhaust heatshield together, and it races so good testament to an exellent product (and cheap)
  12. I think tyres are the problem with mine, the Ifor uses low profiles which are better suited to weight, mine are old caravan wheels which did manage a 250 mile trip with 2.3 tons on board but I was worried about them as I put 60 psi in to help cope with the weight. The land rover however, laughed all the way home and was pulling like a train on a light throttle, just a squeeze on the juice and she powered up the hills having only twice to drop out of fifth for brief periods. Spend a lot of time easing back to keep the speed down as the V8 was wanting to go all the time, brilliant
  13. Done that And 1500kg plus front loader and backhoe will I think be about 2.5 tons but no matter now as I think the seller has made a mistake on the price. It's up for 1700 quid on a classified add on eblag so I sent an email offering to buy it at 1700 quid. Now I should be the owner but I think the seller is wanting offers and put it in the wrong section as it is worth double the asking price. I wait patiently for a reply
  14. I had a big yellow van on the trailer which was supposed to be 2.3 tons with equiptment in it and it towed Ok but I think it wasn't far off the limit for the high profile tyres. They weren't getting warm but I kept down to 50 mph with the V8 and it only cost me 146 quid to do 500 miles. Which wasn't bad considering the fact that I enjoyed every mile (burble burble burble)
  15. Had a Dexta on the trailer with no problems but don't know how heavy it was. I tried google but got nowhere, 1920s Fords etc
  16. Any one know the approx weight of a small Ford 1920 4x4 tractor fitted with front loader and 3 point backhoe? Any one got one for sale. I may need to pick one up on my trailer and wondered if it would be legal in a twin axle trailer.
  17. If you get no 1 to tdc on the firing stroke and make sure that the pulley mark is lined up and the rotor is pointing at no 1 plug lead , then advance it a bit it should fire up..........I think
  18. '84 110 with 3.5 V8 on LPG and petrol here, just as a matter of interest, how far do you get on a tank of gas? Mine takes 25/30 quid to fill and I only get 90 miles. Going to adjust it when I get back on the road and see if I can do any better, I need to advance the timing more I think.
  19. Gotcha, bigger holes on wheels and long nuts with a collar. Should have thought of that
  20. Just a thought....are disco studs the same ? if so how do they fit thick alloys ?
  21. Mine does this, I have to whack the float bowls to unstick the shut off valves before the carbs will accept petrol. Happened first time near Lymm services actually, must be something in the air (fumes) no doubt.
  22. Looks like they'll be staying on then Really do look nice on the 110, far better than the crappy wellers I just took off. Looks more heavy duty and go anywhere now I'll torque them up and leave it at that, I think the problem is more psycolgical than anything anyway. Ta for the support
  23. Started to fit my 'new' fleabay wheels and find that they are too thick making the studs too short. I've seen a thread on here I think but can't remember what was said nor can I find it on a search. I think I know what the answer is so how easy is it to remove the studs?? Should be able to see what I mean in this pic
