  1. I've got terrafirma shocks +2" on the rear with a scorpion +2" lift springs and it handles the the road really well. Matt
  2. hi I'm a welder fabricator by trade, I'm a coded tig welder and by my experiance tig welding ali is not something your going to pick up just like that its bad enough to learn on thick ali let alone 2 3mm ali. before buying a tig set try and find somewhere where you can have a go and learn on thin gauge stainless where you can see what the malton pool is doing and how to control the torch and feeding the wirer in, cause like with everything not everyone can pick it up. you'll need to rent a bottle of gas (argon) you can use it for (Dc) stainless, mild steel, brass and Ac ali you a can get half size bottle. good luck
  3. i almost brought a freelander once, still do like the look of them and for a 4x4 i think there ideal for the school run just not a lot else after read there review.
  4. here's a pic of mine with 235/85/16 mt the front valance needs to be removed and a little cut on the back wheel arch on the bottom corner and alter your steering stops its not a lot at all mate.
  5. its not the jate rings themselfs its the mounting point on the chassis i've seen the tubes nearly ripped off my mates land rover so sinse then not really trusted them. Matt
  6. Hi all made some new pulling points for the rear of my disco got one fitted and still got the other side to do yet but I thought I'd get people's opinion. The main bracket is 6mm thick mild steel galv dipped, M12 bolts bolting through the bracket and through two tubes that I've inserted into the chassis. Matt
  7. I've got a four tonne hand puller and that works a treat pulled my mates disco out from this and if you cant afford a winch bumper and a winch then its the next best thing, just make sure its a good one and not one of those cheap a**e one.
  8. that happen to my drivers seat, I replaced the seat cover, foam and webbing for £10 from my local scrap yard and it all come off the passenger seat of the scrap disco, so now it looks and feels like a brand new seat. The seat cover unclips on the under side but its a seat out job.
  9. have a look in the lro mag in the accessery parts and they do different wing vents for the defenders that you could mount in your wing as your intake. Matt
  10. I run 235x85x16 and with a decat pipe and a removed egr I also tweaked the pump on the screw at the back with the locking collar turned up half a turn and it now pulls away from my dads standard disco.
  11. Looks good mate that monster of a truck looks good in the flesh I get all my parts from Chris in Wimblington as well.

  13. thats fine guys but you've got to get around my cobra alarm and immobaliser aswell it was just a extra thing and how else are you surpose to offer the idea to others without writing it on here, I'll try and keep my idea's to myself next time.
  14. I've been wanting to put a bit of extra security on the car for a while and now I have it, Took about 30mins to do. Ive took the cranking wire on the ignition switch cut it and took both bits up through the dash and run them on the volume down button so now you have to put the key in the ignition turn the key to the cranking point and press the button to start the car.
  15. I dont think you can, I think the 200 is a 10 spline and the 300 is a 24 spline on the half shafts and the flange as well.
  16. I've got 235/85/16 with a 2"lift you only have to trim a little off the bottom corner of the rear arch and trim the front bumper valance or take it off. Matt
  17. I've swopped my front prop with another one yesterday but still got the same problem been given a rear one to change over and try as well, but I've also been told that the hand brake can stick on disco's and course that sort of noise as well.
  18. most of the time but its louder on the come down, as the flange sheared of the diff is it possible that the front prop could have a slight bend in it and that is whats causing the noise.
  19. Hi all just a cry for help there is this noise that starts at about 25/30 and its atits loudeist at 40 and stops at 50/55 its making a pulsating warring noise, I've just changed the front diff cause the old one the bearing on the pinion wheel colapsed and snapped the flange that bolts to the front prop shaft, I had the noise before but it seems to of got louder since. I'm running 235 85 16 goodyear wrangler m/t that I've just balanced thinking it might be tyre noise but no difference. cheers Matt
  20. Hi all, on my disco I'm running 235/85/16 tyres and what I'd like to know is how far out doe's it put the speedo. cheers Matt
  21. I have blanked the egr valve and thought about putting a d cat pipe on my disco but wondering will it still go through a mot or not.
  22. Hi there I have done the mod but I was speaking to a bloke from land rover and all they do is disconnect it he said it does the same job without the cost of the blanking off kit.
  23. the only rust is on one of the door arches other than that it runs and sound a treat. Me and my dad give it a good look over today, the floor is solid the boot is solid and the sills are solid the body needs a good polish but thats nothing there's no bubbling paint work like I've got on my 200 so i brought it.
  24. How much life is roughly left in the engine do you think I've heard it started up and there's no rattle it really reminded me of a v6 or a v8
