If you buy a rear crossmember from MIB developments then they are all TD5 ones ,the heavy duty one i bought from them was and i put it on my 1994 but that doesn't make it a ringer
Yes thanks Reb that's the one i saw ,probably couldn't find it because i thought it was a series it was put in not a defender .I think it is the same for a series 3 as i was led to believe a 200 will drop straight into one.
I am trying to find a thread about putting a 300 tdi into a series but without chopping up the chassis and using the holes in the block with an engine mount that went around the oil filter, trouble is i can't remember where i saw it
Anyone else know what i am on about or have i finally lost the plot ?
Blimey ,just shows how much profit there is in galvy bulkheads ,Les when you say you drilled some holes for expansion how many and where ? i thought there were enough holes in a bulkhead anyway .
But going by your price it should be good to expect to be able to do both a bulkhead and chassis for less than £500
You say bolt a pas box to the chassis ,dont you have to weld in a new crossmember as well ? if its just a case of fitting the pas box to the existing crossmember then it is probably worth a look obviously i know you then need to put the pump in as well but i think that will be a bit easier as i have the 15j engine.
I got to change the rear crankshaft oil seal on my 2a with a 15j engine in and was wondering which make of seal is best ? my local man has Doulty and OE in stock .Now i assume OE is the same as genuine but without the Land Rover packaging but not costing as much ,am i right ?
He also said that the doulty is a rubber seal and the Oe is a metal seal .
So which one is best ?
