  1. Hi all, Hoping for someone to help me out with an problem I have with some wheel rub issues on my 130. The current wheel and suspension setup is as follows: wheels: 15 x 8 rims with approx. +3mm offset (as best as I could measure) 33x12.5 tyres 30mm wheel spacers aftermarket wider flares suspension: front OME 751 springs and OME 60037 shocks current static length approx. 262mm drivers side, 264mm passenger side rear OME 754 springs and OME 60039 shocks current static length approx. 370mm drivers side, 372mm passenger side I am aware many people run 33x12.5 tyres under a stock defender with no rubbing issues. I however am getting rub on what seems to be the flares going over bumps, and also inner arch rub on full articulation. There was enough pressure to twist the cab/chassis to stop me opening door and also resulting in the drag link bending. Is it normal for tyres of that size to exert that much pressure on the body under full articulation? I am wondering if there is sag in the springs at the front as the defender looks to sit a lot lower at the front. I m unsure if I should first look at changing my front springs or decrease my tyre width. Springs would be the more affordable option on the face of it but don't want to go down the route of having to do a lot more modification if there is too much front end lift. Any help or pointers on what I should be looking at much appreciated.
  2. Many thanks Western, Yeah mine would be the vin wa138480 onwards belt. At least now I have the part numbers in case I run into difficulty passing the modification with my aftermarket belt
  3. Thankyou Mo, Very helpful. I guess if it came from the factory with 3 front seats then it must have different belt plates to what I have on mine. So that doesn't help me unless I try and find a set from a scrapyard, or import new from landrover if you can even get them. (i'm in Oz btw). I just wonder how legal it would be to bolt the aftermarket belt I have into the larger bolt hole along with the plate that's already there. I suppose with the original plates the force applied from any impact would be spread across the 2 bolts, however if I just attached it to the one bolt there would be greater strain on that bolt, so whether an engineer would be happy to pass the modification for us we will have to see, though I doubt they would know any different anyway to be honest.
  4. As the title suggests really, I have a centre seat to fit to the front row of my 2002 td5 defender. I would like to make certain of the mounting points for the centre seat belt. (lap belt) From what I can see it seems as though they would mount to the forward most larger bolt of the 2 that hold the drivers and passengers belt buckle bracket. (see picture attached) Does anybody have a centre seat fitted with a belt on a defender of approx. this age, who can confirm this or otherwise tell me the correct location? Cheers
