I have TigerSealed mine to the top of the snorkel. Neil -
Thanks, I will have another go this weekend with a decent sized hammer then. Hi Todd, No I think it has been like that for some time, Sweden is not to blame. My kids still go on about how good that SLRK meeting was. Cheers, Neil

I tried bashing away at the bracket with a club hammer but I think I need a larger hammer as it did not seem to want to move. It also has a crease where it has bent slightly against the roll bar clamp plate and I am not sure that the bracket will not just fold up with more belting. As a matter of interest what difference to the car would it make having the roll bar offset due to the bent bracket ? Thanks. Neil

Thanks. I wonder if it is worth trying to straighten it up again or wether it doesn't matter really ? Neil

Whilst nosing around underneath I noticed the front anti roll bar brackets: Drivers Side. Passenger Side Should they be identical or has the drivers side taken a major thump sometime ? I can't find a decent picture anywhere else to show me. Thanks. Neil

From the ground up to the lip of the bodywork between the rear quarter the door. I measured the springs in situ and they seemed to be the same although I will have a better attempt tomorrow. I am beginning to think it is just a Land Rover thing and a bit of packing out with spacers should make it right. Neil

300TDi 1997 D1, I have put new springs on it, Land Rover genuine HD at the rear and the correct handed Land Rover genuine ones at the front. New ES9000 shocks all round. I though before that it always had a lean and measured now it looks like the driver side is 1.5" lower. Searching on LR4x4 and elsewhere it seems that a lean to the offside is common, but how/should I correct it ? If I put 1.5" spacers under the springs I guess that would level it out but would it be likely to change the handling (as such) for better/worse ? Part of me says leave it alone but it just doesn't look right, plus I have slightly oversize tyres 245/75/R16 KL71 fitted so I need to make that slight adjustment to the rear arch and I presume a lean means cutting off more on the drivers side that the passenger. If I was going to get spacers are there any recommended places to obtain them ? Thanks. Neil

We went to the SLRK summer event last year in Okno and after looking at the Harwich->Esjberg prices for a family of four the cost was just prohibitive. We took the tunnel and spent two days driving. I would go this way again, the kids loved going through all the different countries and finding camp sites etc. The worst driving standards in the whole 2000+ mile trip was encountered on the return from the tunnel to our home, I am not sure what it is but I find driving in Europe on the whole so much more enjoyable & less fraught. Or something like these corner cushions from Mothercare: http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000J...F8&mcb=core Neil

Only had them on for a couple of weeks : Offroad - not tested yet. Onroad - tread makes them noisier, but not excessive, grip seems ok. Wear - too early to tell. I went for 245/75/R16, the local tyre fitters reckoned they would not balance due to the large knobbly bits but they all came up spot on. Cheers. Neil

Seconded, I got my KL71's from them and was pleasantly surprised with the customer service having got the opposite treatment from several other suppliers. Neil

Thanks. All done now, spent the last few days getting new tyres fitted, putting on new springs and gas shocks and changing the clutch. Knackered I am. Neil

In the description of changing the clutch http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=6719 Les mentions "The front of the engine needs to be kept in place in anticipation of gearbox removal - if you don't do this, the engine will level-out once the weight of the gearbox is off it." Does this mean I need to jack up or support the front of the engine ? Or just to be aware that the engine will shift a bit once the box is off it ? Thanks. Neil

I bear that in mind next time.. Thanks. Neil
