Hi all , does anyone know if Oztent has stopped trading in the UK ? I have been looking at the tents for a while but there out of stock everywhere and the Oztent UK website has no products listed on there at all.
Cheers Ian.

I’ve used PF Jones in Stoke and had no problems, got 6 reconned Bosch ones from there to go in the M57 when I’ve rebuilt it.

Make sure you clean the area your welding the mount too , shiny steel is best . If you’ve got some scrap lying around clean that up and have a practice on that first till you feel comfortable and 0.8 mm wire would be best . Once happy you could multi run it , putting a run of weld on top of another the link shows a pic https://images.app.goo.gl/axeed9BA9ajxnKZq8 .

I’ll be going out to the shed in a while I’ll have a look and post you some pics up of the wiring if you’d like?

Hawk have there own website and I think you can lock the doors but not put the alarm on might be worth an ask thinking about it I think you can lock all the doors if you have a keyed lock by locking the drivers door . On the 110 I’m going back to having locks as I’ve splashed out and brought some Optimill handles, mainly because when I did the 90 I brought 4 pairs of handles and everyone broke, the pair that are on are okay but ! The kits come with one master but you can buy spares , I might have a kit in the shed actually.

They aren’t bad kits and the instructions are easy to follow, the immobiliser is a nice addition but I didn’t add central locking on the 90 . I had it on the 110 and it worked fine but after a while the 2nd row doors stopped working which I think was because they weren’t used or opened very often, I didn’t do the rear door as I didn’t have barrels on the front handles so thought it wise to leave an access point. I would use again but I have been looking at these kits when I redo the 110
bit more expensive and possibly a little more involved but I like the smaller and genuine actuators.

Thanks all , problem solved I had got two of the wires the wrong way round. I will post how they go in my custom dash project thread and in my new 110 rebuild as I plan on doing the same mod to the wipers on that but I have thought of some improvements but they look a lot better even just in the shed .

Oh yes , timing is everything usually when they’re out shopping or at a friends and a get out of jail plan is always wise.
-
Well yes , but I thought it polite to ask 😁.

Did you have to ask permission to put the ATB in there @Peaklander ? Or did you sly it in without the boss knowing? I only ask because her indoors would have had a hissy fit 😱 if I’d have asked to do that or been caught doing it.

Hi all , does anyone know what each colour wire on a wiper motor does? Because the loom colours don’t match the wiper colours, I know what each wire on the loom does, I’m asking as I modded the wipers to run on rods and a disco motor but I’ve searched online and I can’t find the info I need .

Marine bond might work, it’s what they use to bond the glass into fish tanks, I used some to bond aluminium sheet to the back of my side panels to make them like utility ones been on 10 years now.

So plan is as I’ve got a 200tdi chassis with td5 mods I want to keep the transfer box and gear box in the 200tdi position so I was working forward from there . I want this because the air con compressor won’t foul the steering box (hopefully) and I’ve already got 2 very nice GWYN Lewis props to fit . I also have these ,
these are the Range Rover engine mounts so I think the TDCI rubber mounts will work well , I could use the Range Rover’s rubber mounts but they attach to the vacuum pump I believe and stiffen the mounts up the faster you go , I did read somewhere that they leak regularly and in a defender it’s just something else to go wrong.

Cheers @Maverik must be loosing my marbles 🫣I was the next person to answer you on your thread.

You haven’t got a photo of the gearbox mounts have you @Maverik ? Without crawling around underneath the truck . As my chassis is a 200tdi with td5 rad mounts and rear end , as I wanted to keep the engine in the 200tdi position and was thinking of swapping to 300tdi mounts for the gearbox .
-
Never thought about disco engine mounts , they could work . Just looked on MAER’s web site can buy a pair of the weld on brackets for £19 plus postage .
-
Hi all , I’d like everyone’s opinions on engine mounts , if you could pick any to fit to your defender which ones would you choose? I’d like to keep them Land Rover, as I’m fitting an M57 to the 110 and I’ve got a shiny new chassis from MAER with plates that bolt to the side to weld the bracket to, so anything’s possible really but I was thinking TD5 TDCI ones.

Hi all , does anyone know what size letters should be used to stamp the chassis number on the chassis?
cheers Ian

The whole website is just blank now , a month or two ago they had all the products listed . 4x4overland.com has them listed but they’re all out of stock. Does anyone know of a good alternative?
