  1. These are the people I brought my stuff off , https://www.as-trim.co.uk/ I’m planning on getting the stuff from these for the projects dash and to redo the roof lining after I’ve repaired some rips in it .
  2. Here you go , bottom plate is 6mm I think using my eye , any measurements just ask as it will be like this till I save some pennies to buy the rad and hoses , hope this gives you an idea .
  3. I think you may be able to use the catches that are used to hold the seat box lids down, you can buy them separately and a piece of springy steel to go over .
  4. Part numbers are , and prices from Britcar 2 straps that hold the filter housing on ERR4688 £30 to £60 base plate that bolts to the head under 2 of the head bolts ERR2850 £30 to £70 supporting strap underneath ERR2851 £10 to £12 and the rubber mountings as above ERR2337. from 60p to £9 a bit expensive I’ll take you a photo or 2 tomorrow but definitely make your own or get one from a breakers I’d say .
  5. Only just refitted mine to the engine so still got easy access so if you want any measurements I’ll get them for you.
  6. You have to buy them as a complete fitting Arjan and if I remember correctly there £30 each breakers would be your best bet if you have them in France , I’m at work at the moment but can get you the number when at home if no one else does . Then there’s a plate at the bottom and 4 of these rubber mounts err2337 . Hope this helps a bit.
  7. Thank you , I’ve got the website saved in my browser on the computer , I brought everything from the one firm , will post it up later for you when I get back from work .
  8. Here you go I did the bottom of my dash as well . Ans as I don’t smoke I blanked the ashtray off and the speaker holes as they’re fitted the doors .
  9. Hi Peaklander, I didn’t have the fittings you have and ended up making something up myself , a fitting off eBay and a cable tie to secure it on , I looked for a Vdo fitting kit but no one sold them separately that I could find so sorry I can’t help, but if I’m reading your problem rite you might need just a bit more force , if each of the parts are quite snug fitting when you try and tighten it up the olive will dig in the rubber tube I would imagine and need a bit of effort to get it to squash down the tube .
  10. I recovered mine myself when I did the 110 it came out quite well and hasn’t come undone, I’ll put a photo up over the weekend if people would like . I used closed cell from and vinyl from a firm online the sells automotive retrimming stuff can put a link up for people if they’d like ? If I remember correctly the original covering is like a spray on plastic stuff and when you remove it , it pulls the foam off underneath . I would definitely say have a go yourself if you buy the stretchy vinyl it’s quite an easy job to do with time and patience. I’m planning on retrimming parts of the dash in the project when I get that far .
  11. Cheers Dave , the plan is too not use the standard fuse box. I’ve been toying with the idea of using a disco 2 engine bay fuse box as it’s wired together using a copper printed circuit so only switch wires but I haven’t looked into that properly yet , other option is I’ve got two fuse boxes of eBay, I’ll post some pics up when I get chance, a small one I was intending to use for the front lights and other bits and a main one which takes up to 18 fuses and relays so everything can be in one place, and was also planning to relocate the fuse box .
  12. Got a bit more done tacked the back in and a piece at the front to support it , trial fitted it , then cut the sticky up bit off the back and tacked that onto the front and also tacked some right angled strip around the top where the cubby box will be , then had a trial fit , had to fettle the sides down at the front in places so it fitted on the gearbox tunnel , there will be carpet fitted so any slight gaps won't be noticeable when finished , then fabed a plate up to hold the gear shifter and surround , I now need to work out how to fit the shifter in the console as I'm also fitting a disco 1 hand brake lever . have fitted one on the 110 and it makes using the handbrake a much easier operation . So I'm thinking of making a plate up and fitting both the handbrake and shifter to the seatbox then the console can be placed on top then a removable top plate for the console then the shifter surround can clip on top and have sourced some gators for the handbrake and hi/lo lever , hopefully it should all fall into place .
  13. Definitely get it , like most things it’s what someone is prepared to pay . Do we get a rebuild thread as well when you buy it ?
  14. I’ve used Dave Rushten engines in Burslem Stoke you would have to ring him for a price , and Chase engines in Newcastle under Lyme they list prices on there web site both were good on the work they did for me .
  15. Sorry Steve forgot to offer the vent mechanism up and see what clearance I have , I'll try and do it tomorrow . So as the engines now in and I can't really do anymore till I get some cash together for parts it's back to the dash . There's been a lot of head scratching and thinking as it's not as easy as you probably think , that's why it's took some time to come back to it as I couldn't quite get my head round it on where to start and how to do it , so I needed to start somewhere and hope the rest fell into line , so decided to start with the center console . It took all this afternoon sanding a bit here and cutting a bit there to get to this . So opinions please ? The base is fine , I just need to trim the front down so it fits over the gearbox tunnel , the top at the rear is ok as that will be a cubby box/arm rest . Where it slopes down from there on will need trimming off so I can fit the auto gear lever inside and the plastic trim in the top plate , also need to fit the Disco hand brake on there , trimming will be done when I've set the width which I already know from the cubby box I made for the 110 , also need to make a separate piece to join the dash and the center console . I've got to alter the top part of the dash now as I've decided to fit puma clocks so I've made more work for myself , hope I can pull it off .
  16. Gearbox if you want to refurbish I’d send it away to be done and keep it as a spare but a transfer box is easily done at home , I’ve done 2 now . The toolbox videos on YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vi5kHtvY-u8 are great they do a step by step guide that’s not the 1st one but will put you on the rite track , only special tools are a dial gauge ( cheap off eBay) and the big nut tool which they show you how to make one out of an old socket , so well worth doing hope this helps .
  17. Hi all , I’ve got a couple of Bosch starter motors I want to service off my 200/300tdi’s . I’ve stripped the one and it needs new bushes and a few other bits , I’ve found all the parts that I can replace and there part numbers in my parts book and have found them available at Britcar , but before I pay there prices does anyone know a supplier that’s cheaper and does anyone have a parts diagram with the Bosch part numbers on ? I have done a net search but all the firms that come up appear to be trade oriented , having stripped a genuine LR Bosch unit and a cheap Am one you can tell the difference so would like to get the gen ones back serviceable. cheers Ian
  18. Cheers cackshifter did see your post earlier but internet was pants so couldn’t get on to reply .
  19. Hi all back again with a few more questions , I’m getting to the stage where I’ll be fitting the engine to the gearbox. So am I correct in thinking that the TC needs to fit 2mmish further inside the bell housing than the flywheel protrudes the backing plate ? Should I put some ATF in the TC before fitting? I’m guessing yes to that one. And on the bottom of the backing plate there’s an access hole shaped like an egr plate , what’s it there for ? The plate on mine was missing so I’ve made a new one , the 1 bolt is m8 but would anyone know the size of the other or a part number ? It’s larger than m12 and I’ve got nothing of that size to try . Cheers Ian
  20. Yes I did wonder that myself, some of these traders are starting to get clever how they advertise things , seems strange Airtex make them for every other engine but the 200tdi . I’ve got one waiting to be fitted to the 300tdi on the bench .
  21. Just found this Mo https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-200TDI-WATER-PUMP-OEM-AIRTEX-PROFLO-STC639G-/202189343833 came up on a search might be worth contacting them .
  22. I can’t answer your above question Mo but shop4auto parts do a stc639g made by Pro Flow for £50 don’t know if that make is any good , but says made in the uk and I’ve not used them personally yet but everything else I’ve had off there site has been good .
  23. I’ll put them in the weekend when I get back on it and put some pics up.
  24. Thank you Ralph. , I did have a look but I couldn’t even remember what thread it was in , like looking for a needle in a haystack.
