  1. According to the Facebook page they run at similar pressures so it’s fine , they fitted the petrol version of the m57 to the South African defender and we all know Land Rover wouldn’t have picked an engine where they had to develop a new box being tight arses.😁
  2. No not really Mo , one is a good box off the 110 but when I rebuilt it the casing where the return to the reservoir goes got banged so can’t fit the hose so bought a second hand one to get the mot which got a bit tired , and there was a breaker on eBay selling some reasonably priced and they looked in good Knick so bought two one for the 90 and one for the 110 so I could rebuild the old ones at some stage and have spare boxes. But as I’m fitting a M57 to the 110 after I’ve finished the 90 I was thinking that it might be better to fit a brand new box as there’s more power , also noticed that bearmach now sell new shafts and bearings for the boxes .
  3. That’s good to know, I’ve got three in the shed I was planning to refurb my self but haven’t got round to it yet, and I’ve not heard good things about refurb boxes. I don’t mind paying for the job to be done rite , if a part needs replacing, replace it don’t just make it so it works.
  4. I did wonder that but the retailer’s I looked at list them separately as to 2007 and from 2007 but the look identical, and this was for a brand new box.
  5. Hi all , I’ve been looking steering boxes and come up with 2 part numbers QAF500110 and LR062098 the later being from a Puma later model , so are the boxes interchangeable? They appear to be identical. cheers Ian
  6. I quite like that .😁
  7. If you enlarge it a bit you can see the reinforcing in the rails .
  8. If I remember correctly there’s some reinforcing bits behind there as well .
  9. I’m just about to start the main loom for the 90 , I’m using a GLR10 timer relay triggering a main relay.
  10. cheap and cheerful, off the market earned its couple of quid when I dropped the rod out of the slave cylinder in the bell housing whilst changing the clutch, have 3 in the toolbox now.
  11. I fitted some off eBay that were a bit more expensive and I wasn’t impressed , had the same trouble at the test center the mechanic who I know well couldn’t get them rite . I ran them for a year or so and didn’t like them so I changed them to svx ones with the sidelight in and night breaker bulbs and they’re better . Will be better still I think when I do the wiring mod for the headlights. If I was to buy led again it would be the trucklite ones but with all the theft of landy bits I’m not sure I want to spend that much money to have them robbed.
  12. Yep, will be doing mine shortly using an M57 out of a Range Rover L322 and a 4HP24 auto out of a V8 P38 . But got to finish the 90 first which isn’t far off so another build thread .
  13. Not a lot to show in the way of pics today , but did the test fit of the gear shifter to check the cable was ok in the hole I'd drilled , all fine except it took over an hour to get the cable off the box due to the split pin welding itself in and access isn't great but got there in the end so need either a new cable of the fitting that goes on the end , then put some etch primer on the center console , finish the painting off next week and then the trimming , might even go fishing next Saturday , who knows .
  14. So trimming started today , got the closed cell foam on , just the center console left to do but got a few bits to do before that's done and need to sort the heater ducting but got the Suzuki swift blower motor , got that fitted into the housing details in build thread .
  15. They’ll fit from 300tdi onwards I think but only 90’s as they aren’t load rated enough for the 110 .
  16. I think a picture of what you mean might help as I have a 200tdi and a 300tdi and as far as I’m aware they are the same.
  17. Fished there many times was a very good venue , used to like fishing Sally lake for the tench , haven't been over there for many years sadly .
  18. Drill them or if you sand the heads back to the cross member carefully you might be able to knock them in with a punch , then fit stainless rivnuts . Beat me to it James .
  19. Hi Mick , welcome I think we've spoken before over on Landyzone ? @Paddy you don't live anywhere near Ballyconnel do you ? Spent many an hour drinking in the Anglers Rest and other pubs when I've been over there fishing .
  20. The Landreiziger unit replaces the hole mechanism I've got one to fit to mine , @western did a write up about it I believe , if I remember correctly you have to wedge the flap open for it to work but I haven't really got round to looking at mine yet .
  21. Cheers gruntus, if I remember correctly make sure you put your finger on the back then push a screw driver in and it should ping off , I think 🤔.
  22. I’ve got one of the Landzeiger blower upgrade switches to fit which is a variable speed that actually works as such 😁.
  23. Thank you all , not a lot to post today over here bit more in my build thread . Just finished painting the dash bits ready for trimming next week hopefully . Wasn't after a great finish as it will have closed cell foam and vinyl on top and the inside is just to stop the rust .
