  1. Hi all , does anyone know the size of the thread on the back of the above gauge ? I brought the gauge off ebay and its in very good nick and then I brought a VDO boost gauge fitting kit but all the fittings in the kit are too small can anyone help ? cheers Ian
  2. I've got a 110 200tdi and the part number for that was STC8384 , I don't know what you're looking to spend but got mine brand new off ebay for 295and 15 quid delivery they pop up on there from time to time.
  3. Cheers western thought that was the culprit as I had it out of the way before I rooted the wires, forgot all about it when I stuffed the wires into the dash until the dash started sparking then when I started pulling the wires up out it popped. All the other connections I used shrink tube on. cheers Ian
  4. Hi all, just done the td5 clock and warning panel conversion on my 200tdi and every thing seemed fine, so taped all the cables up and rooted them through the dash and connected it all back up then started her up and it appeared that the dash was shorting out. I think I know what's causing it but wanted to run it past the more experienced people on her to check my thinking is right. The 2 socket moulded plug for the interior lights was in side the dash not covered oops, would the purple/blue wire which has an exposed bullet showing cause this to happen or should I be looking for a bad connection elsewhere ? cheers Ian
  5. yes it is PRC6864 so over to the for sale section with the loom . cheers all Ian
  6. no not sure about the part number I know its red and it starts prc will have a look in the morning, it looks like the relay in your picture but I would say it was an original one or an old one. checked the wires going into it and they match the loom from autosparks .
  7. cheers western yes got a red relay but its a prc 6342 I think should have checked , just took it that as it was listed in autosparks section for my vin number that it wasn't fitted so got a brand new intermitant wiper harness if anyone needs one . what a numpty . cheers Ian
  8. Hi all, does anyone know from what year Land Rover fitted intermitant front wipers to the Defender ? Because I'm confused its a 110 200tdi I am rebuilding and I bought the harness from autosparks as it was listed in the wiring harnesses for my vin number, I've just fitted my td5 clocks and warning panel and when I came to fit the new wiper harness prc 8295 it doesn't fit. I've got the later stalk fitted PRC7370G and the wiring on the stalk matches up to the main loom perfectly which suggests that I've already got intermitant wipers fitted, and the wiper loom wiring on one end matches to the stalk but the other end doesn't match the main loom. Does anyone agree with my thinking or is that how the loom is? is the relay for the factory fitted intermitant wipers by the fuse box if so does anyone know the part number so I can check if that's there? any help would be greatly appreciated cheers Ian
  9. Cheers western have been using retroanacondas write to do the upgrade have got the 16pin and 20 pin plugs wired and the clock loom modified but got confused on some of the wires as above. Whats the white/yellow wire is for and which permanent 12v feed is fused to 5 amps purple or green ? will have a read of the wibbly wobbly speedo tomorrow.
  10. Hi all, I am just installing a td5 binnacle clocks and warning panel into my project 200 tdi 1993 csw and I have a few questions so here goes. On the warning panel pin 14 on the 16 pin plug is for the low brake fluid /hand brake warning, it says attach the black/white wire. But I have read that on 200tdi this is a white/yellow wire, ok but I have both a black/white wire and a whit/yellow wire do I attach both to pin 14 ? or is the white/yellow for something else as in the write up there's no mention of a white/yellow wire. Also I have a third white wire which I believe from the small female spade connector on it that it was connected to the old binnacle on one of the warning lights as I had tapped it to the slate/red trans oil temp wires on my old loom I presume it went on too the other terminal on that light can this be left unattached ? And now on to the clocks loom, I've modified my td5 loom and added the new plug and I've found the main loom plug (I think ) that I need to change, its got the following wires in it left to right top row - green/black , green/blue , green , white/grey bottom row - 2xpurple , white, 2x black , brown , red and red/white and now to the questions ,the ignition-switched feed fused at 10a can that be any white wire ? Secondly the 2 permanent 12v feeds fused at 5a would these be the purple wires from the plug ? Thirdly I'm guessing that as I don't have a red/orange for the gauge lighting feed that the red/white wire from the above plug is the one I want but do I also attach the red wire as well ? And lastly the low fuel light is listed as white/orange but I believe its white/grey on a 200tdi is that correct ? If so can I connect the white/grey wire from the above plug to pin 12 on the td5 loom and it will work ? Few sorry if I've confused everybody wiring is not my strong point but I'm learning slowly but surely cheers for any help Ian
  11. Hi all , I am upgrading the interior lights on my 200tdi station wagon. Puting one over the driver and one over the 2nd row seats , I've got my lights and plinths AMR3155 and I've brought some wiring AMR3158 which I believe connects on to the lights , what's the part number for the wiring that connects the lights to the main loom on a station wagon ? and the wire that goes to the contact switches for the doors? this is part AMR 3158 also am I right in thinking that the wiring colours are as follows purple is 12v live feed, purple/blue is the switched earth that goes to the door contact switches and the black wire goes to a permanent earth point ? cheers all Ian
  12. I proberbly would support it as even if it drops only a bit it will be a game to get the new one in, yes I think that size is correct.
  13. Hi all , could someone with an air con winch bumper, not the round tube type one, please measure the size of the tray that holds the winch as I'm fabricating my own and I haven't got the winch yet to go off ? cheers Ian
  14. Or does anyone know the part number for the blanking plugs? Could blank the lock holes up and fit central locking.
  15. yep that's the bit I want just got a hole where the barrel actuator is, looks like I will have to buy a new pair of handles. Just been on brit-car site got part nos LR066528 AND LR066530, everywhere else only got Land Rover ones, but they have bearmach ones for £16 a side instead of £55 a side might try those not heard many bad reports about bearmach stuff.
  16. cheers western thats what I was starting to think. Think I might have rear handles not front ones oops.
  17. Cheers western have seen lr cat the bit I want isn't on there, the bits I want are the orange bits in the photo below if there the same on the newer defender as the old ones cheers Ian
  18. Hi all, have brought a new style 2007 on ignition barrel, bigger barrel locks and handles for my project, ignition barrel is fitted and working fine but when I came to fit the door handles and the bigger barrels there's a bit missing. Does anyone know the part nos for the bit that holds the lock in the handles with the actuator for the lock on the back for both front doors and also I brought a later style rear lock what bit do I need to secure the barrel into that ? Any help would be greatly appreciated have looked on line but can't see what I was after and even went to a Land Rover dealer today and they couldn't help. cheers Ian
  19. Hi all, I'm after the part numbers for the seat belts in a 110 csw 200 tdi 93 think I've sorted the following- front L/H EVB000540LNF and the receiver BTR4372 front R/H EVB000550LNF and the receiver BTR4373 2ND ROW L/H AND R/H BTR5779 are the above correct ? and does anyone know the part number for the 2nd row centre seat belt ? I believe that the male and female ends are attached to the female ends for the outer 2nd row belts, am I correct on this ? I've searched shops, forums and I can't find the centre one. cheers Ian
  20. Cheers all led lights it is, V8Pete is my thinking right on the following to remove the switch this is attached to the main loom purple wire and a purple/blue trace wire the purple /blue trace wire goes to this switch plug the an earth wire and a black/slate trace wire comes out of the plug and goes up to the light along with the purple wire from the original plug I believe the purple wire is a 12v feed which would run to the lights ? would you connect the purple/blue wire and the black/slate wire together and connect to the lights or would the purple/blue wire just be isolated? And then an earth run from each light to an earth point and then to the switches on the corresponding doors ? cheers Ian
  21. Hi all, have done a forum search on interior lights but still got a few questions as I'm a total novice on wiring . I have a 200tdi 110 csw 1993 and want to put extra interior lights in , one in the rear as I've removed the rear windows and one above the 2nd row seats, also want to upgrade to the newer type lights. I think I've found the interior light wiring wires, purple and purple/blue out of the loom, purple/blue to the white plug that goes onto the switch then the purple wire goes to the light, then 2 wires out of the switch the black earth and a black/slate wire which goes with the purple up to the light have I got this wright ? If so is it best to remove this switch as the newer lights have one on the unit ? Will it be ok to run the wire for each lamp to a multi connector attached to the loom (like you do with the indicator/brake lights) ? and lastly the switches for the doors do you just run earth wires from the white switch plug to th back of these ? Sorry if it sounds very confusing but it's my first rebuild and I'm still learning . cheers Ian
  22. No probs or go to AS TRIM (as-trim .co.uk) for some reason it won't post a link. I prefer the as trim shop as there is more choice in fabrics you want to look in headlining and adhesive kits as they do a 1.6m wide by 5m long kit enough for a 110. sorry about that they disappeared here they are http://www.as-trim.co.uk/ http://www.martrim.co.uk/catalogue/landrover-headlining-kit.html
  23. Hi jon can't tell you whether they are any good or not but I've got the headlining to do on my project 110 thought the prices were a bit steep so have decided to re-cover it myself. Have brought some fibreglass matting to repair the rips in it from removing it and have found a couple of companies that sell the fabric to recover it , they do kits for about £100 can post the links up if your interested in going down that route.
