[Help with halo headlights - 90 TD5]

Hi

A friend of mine has a 2001/51 90 TD5 and has tried to buy halo headlights several times

However, every time he goes through the process of finding the ones he likes that say they fit 90/TD5 then puts his registration number in it says not compatible with his vehicle

Now I thought that most "late" defenders had the same fittings for headlights and I suspect its more something like they cant match his reg number to a specific model via DVLA or something and I'm sure folks here would know
