  1. Thanks Ralph, thats exactly my set-up. I see that they have the CD unit set into a revised cubby box which might be easier as I can't see how to get the grey facia off and do not want to b*gger it up in the process.
  2. Sorry to Chang-Hai this thread but I have a problem that is sort of connected. I have speakers already in place (albeit OE cr*p ones) and wish to fit a new CD player. The 110 has never had a radio fitted so before I attack the facia to make the cut-out - what is inside to mount the Cd player in? Because my 110 has air-co there is a facia above the normal dash which kind of blocks your view of whats inside and has clock, ciggy lighter, oil temp and chrge gauge fitted. Can this be removed easily to sort out the connections to the back of the unit and how do you get the feeds from the fuse box?
  3. Yes thanks. It's great and wish we'd made the move years ago. France is a good place to have a Land Rover and the French are well into their off-roading.
  4. Thanks guys. I'll give it a go over the next couple of days. The new fixings look very smart and well worth the agro. Hey Ralph, how's life in sunny Camborne these days?
  5. Just in the process of replacing all my door hinge bolts etc with nice new shiny stainless ones from Stig fasteners. I notice that its a bit of a nightmare trying to take off the inside door panels without busting the little plastic fixing lugs. Any advice or tips for doing this with minimum breakages?
  6. Good to know that an organisation with such a blemish-free track record for efficient working practices and high standards of excellence are diverisfying into another sphere of operations. No road tax in France - even easier to police!
  7. Used CoverKing also and very good they are too and only around £60 for the full set. Sold the Disco and now have them in my Defender
  8. I'm asking this on behalf of a good mate in the UK. He has a 1996 Disco XS 300tdi and has been having problems with the handbrake. It seems that it sticks ocasionally and when it does it is a major drama getting it to release. He has replaced the cable, and had the drum off to check the shoes and springs which seem OK. He has poured oil down the cable to reduce and friction there but still to no avail. the other issue is that his drive is VERY steep and it may be that this is partly to blame. Any thoughts gratefully received. Ged
  9. Hi Tony, Thanks very much for this - not sure how you acheived it but it looks great, well I'm biased anyway! Ged
  10. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e258/g2648875/DCP_0105.jpg In a gratuitous attmpts to show off, here's a link to a decent pic which I hope works - the last one above did'nt. Ged
  11. Hi there, Found this forum recently and thought I'd join this growing band of merry men & women and add my two cents/euros where appropriate! Just a brief summary; After a year of searching, I found a LHD 110 CSW for sale. It turned out to have airco, full length rack, twin tanks, split-charge and uprated springs. It was owned by LR for about three years and then bought by a charity for work in Albania where it stayed for a couple of years. The guy I bought it from owned it since 2000 and did very little with it. When I picked it up it had only 100,000km on the clock. Its hard to believe that it was built in 1994 because it looks like new, inside and out - oh yes and the airco work brilliantly. This is my 7th Land Rover since 1984 and by far the best. I have already explored a number of the 1000s of kms of narrow unmade French tracks in our region and hope to keep it for many years to come. Ged
