  1. I used a Range Rover Classic LT77 with the 5th gear extension housing from a 200tdi defender LT77. This meant I could use the Defender Gear shift. Speed Transducer - I didnt use one and its fine. Seems to vary though. Fuel Pump - I used a range rover one, the smaller one actually fits straight into the defender tank, you just need to extend the pickup as the tank is deeper. Engine mounts - we cut the defender one sout and welded in range rover ones. Wiring, we used the Range Rover Engine and ECU loom and branched it into the Defender stuff. Stuck the ECU in the cubby box and ran the wiring up the tunnel. Radiator - 2.5TD rad is huge and fills the whole front up.
  2. Mikey, you know theres only one option really. Hicap + 6BT + galvy chassis, plus me helping build it.
  3. Remember when they first came out I saw a white one and it reminded me of a kitchen appliance.
  4. Then you get a new door and a wheel carrier. Simples.
  5. Im definately in favour of these. Iv got a 1993 90 and Iv just replaced the door. The old one was cracked, split and in really back nick. I rebuilt the hinges too. Going to get a wheel carrier next. We've had them on Landies before and they are fantastic.
  6. Sounds exactly whats up, the air lines corrode. my mates had this problem so he fitted vitara free wheeling hubs to it.
  7. I have a single big fan off ebay on my V8,works really well. Got an adjustable radtek thermostat in the top hose too. Great bit o kit. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3449
  8. Cant say iv noticed much of a performance difference between brands but I must admit the Tesco stuff doesnt seem to last anywhere near as long as the likes of Shell or BP.
  9. Got more last night up here, looks like its gonna keep going too.
  10. Booo. Hehe. Wondered if it was you.lol

  11. I think that looks ace. Tis rather high though.
  12. Spotted this one too, thought it looked abit random compared with everything else on their shop.
  13. Rick, Im not entirely sure. Is it EFi or carb? Iv slways thought the carbed ones sounded a bit more beefy if not louder but I could be wrong. As for the manifolds I cant help you there im sorry but Im sure if you popped an email over to Rimmerbros or give them a shout then they could help you.
  14. I Have A full Rimmerbros system on my 3.9. Tubular Manifolds and system. Fitted really well and sounds brilliant plus I thought the cost was nice too. It sound fantastic, has a gorgeous burble at idle, when you plant it it really roars. Its definately a distinctive note. Its not ridiculously loud but you bloomin well know its there. Had it about a year and a half now I guess and its still great. Have a listen for yourself.
  15. Lol, Fair enough, its just they look pretty new and the Defender shocks are getting past it.
  16. Thanks for the replies guys. Its a Defender 90 with a V8 in it. Used to be a 200Tdi. Its only the shocks I wanna nick really. No point in the axles if they're only 10 spline i guess.
  17. Im pretty sure LRO's latest issues got an article on all the different engines this month. Think they said it should be about around 30mpg becuase its slightly more economical than the 300. Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong. Then again with a Disco Tranny you might get more?
  18. Just a quick question. Iv got a 1990 Range Rover Classic and want to know if I can use suspension parts like shocks and Axles and put them onto my Defender? The defender is a 1993 with disc brakes at the rear so Im assuming 24 Spline. Is the RRC the same? Thanks James
  19. My drivers one flops over at anyhting over 30mph.lol
  20. I have a rimmerbros stainless system and manifolds on my defender 3.9. It fitted brilliantly and sounds fantastic. Only had it on half a year so cant comment on lifetime yet.
  21. Had proper heavy snow this week up here and now the roads are just an icy mess.
  22. Ok, False alarm. I went out and had a play trying the gears and ended up getting stuck in reverse with a rattling sound coming from the gearbox. Thought to myself " this is either going to be very simple or very expensive". Whipped the housing off and yes, the grub screw that holds the cup bit on that you can see in the photo ha docme loose. Tightened it all up and it work again. Phewww.
  23. Its ok I had a look at the manual. THe bit on the right hand side. Its a 200Tdi Selector housing on the box. THe thing I have noticed is that once you have got it into reverse if you take it out and try to go to first it stays in reverse. So you need to slot it into 4th almost to get it back so you can engage first.
