  1. Have read various comments on this. The 80 will be running series 3 running gear, and it must have a diesel and as I have a 200 in the shed which I know to be good, looks the ideal conversion, but: with or without turbo, will the engine fit with the turbo, or do people leave the turbo off due to space? The battery will go in the back, and I am sure we can find room for the intercooler, so what do we do? is the 200 without the turbo an option, or does it need the turbo for efficient operation
  2. [Don't do it, TDI yes, TD5 No no no no no................
  3. Anyone recommend the best place to get them from. Looking at 2 leaf front and back as per rocky mountain web page recommendations.....
  4. Post some pictures or pm me some, may be intrested....
  5. The passenger footwell carpet is soaking just under the bonnet release handle and across to the door pillar. I have heard of gutters being blocked and water comming in, but I can't see where. I have put a cloth around the area of the heater vent to the foot well, but it does not get wet. Any info would be welcome on where to look and what to do.

    Disco 3

Thanks for all your views, yes I agree two different vechiles, but same price....... I guess the 90 body will last longer, but I have reservations about the Puma engine and it's electrics. Will keep on looking at the pro's and cons, just don't know if I could live with the lack of refinment and crampt cabin.

    Disco 3

Went to buy a new 90 hard top with a/c, abs, tc, climate pack etc and the dealer suggested I have a disco 3 commercial. After his calculator clicked away, the disco 3 commercial came in £400 cheaper (hell of a discount). More comfort, hp, torque etc, but I still have reservations over the Terrain response and all the electric gismo's, any feed back of problems / faults of either vechile would be appreciated. Are there aftermarket spares available fro the disco 3 yet, brake pads etc etc
  8. Now we are talking, the 90" 0verhang, any more pictures of this set up.....
  9. Looking to build a 100" with defender body panels. Have seen various options of rear body overhangs and would appreciate if people would post relevent pictures so I can finalise plan / build. It will be a truck cab.
  10. Have been phoning for two days now, no reply?
  11. Yep, the ETC works, but the 90 with Grabber AT's, same tyres as on the disco has no problems, the disco seems to struggle, even with the extra power. Who should I look to for the centre diff upgrade and has anyone done this, cost and any issues to be aware of??
  12. Have a 53 plate disco 2, manual with T/C & ABS, but no diff lock. Would I be better getting the mod kit to fit diff lock to the gearbox or fit a locker in the back axle. It goes off road, mailnly with 14ft ifor williams flat bed, but finds is difficult to tow, I have been advised to fit a diff lock, but which is the best route.
  13. Is this possible still retaining the lights between the wings? I will use series 2 box, early stages, but this is the option I would like to go down, Comments please
  14. Just been out in a 90 hard top, great vehicle and the old disco td5 commercial will be going to a new home.... Questions, the seats do not go back very far, I see Performance & Protection do a bulkhead removal bar, is this similar to the one Landrover fit in the XS station wagons, and if so, does it give much more room? Has anyone fitted one and how good is it. I like the carpet in the XS's, Landrover have said it is not an option in the hard top, is there a company who supplies carpet kits for the front and back. All in all, I want a 90 xs spec Landrover but without the side windows, any ideas? All comments / suggestions appreciated. Pete
  15. Looking to trade td5 in for a new 2.4 and was wanting feedback from users on the new engine / gear box as well as new dash / heating system / a/c. Is everything ok with these new vechiles, any teathing problems? Good or bad, all comments welcome. Pete
