    Billing

For those of you who have a spare weekend now that Billing Land Rover Show has been postponed - have you thought about coming along to the King of the Valleys at Walters Arena, South Wales. A few more marshals are always useful.
  4. Not the aerobatics - just the tree you landed in/on!!!
  5. Excellent event - brilliant as a marshal/spectator. Have to be more than a few bruises today I'd have thought. Cars were getting faster as the day went on clicky link to pics And a few videos, not the best but done on an ordinary camera, which won't zoom etc in video mode!
  6. No spectating is free. You will have to park in the car park and walk round though
  7. Thanks!!! Glad you all enjoyed it! Gemma - the evil Badger!
  8. What a great site, our first time there and we've thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to all those who were taking part. Just a quick point - but as my Mrs was one who gave Adrian a penalty for reversing completely over the rope and the co-driver was told at the time!
  9. Does that mean the house is cheaper than the truck???
  10. We were up there marshalling this weekend and had a great time. The teams we were with made it an easy job, must have been hard work running after the winners though, they passed us a couple of times and were certainly going at it. Well Done to Chris/Simon & Alan/Dafydd A few pics
  11. try reading the post again, that would be 3 feet since we did the recce 3 weeks ago, plus being topped up overnight. We would love to have a marshal per team or per punch, but it's hard to get enough volunteers. Another way would to have punches close together so that a marshal could keep an eye on them but that's not always possible either. I, for one, can't understand the mentality of anyone entering an event and then cheating - what's the point? and it spoils it for the majority who play by the rules. Howlin Wolf is a great series run over different sites and long may it continue together with some of the great drivers and co-drivers we have entering it at the moment.
  12. As the one who did the recce for this event with Glaggs, I feel I need to reply to this. When we went 3 weeks ago to have a look, the water level was 3 feet lower than it was on Saturday, plus we are always trying to do something different, it’s no good if the punches are the same every year. Kirton being quarried again helped us in the top corner and gave a few new areas to play with, most of which didn’t involve water. And some we were going to use had disappeared altogether. The NCGL crew set out the punches on Saturday and then Neil & his team checked them all – including a few in the water which he asked us to change because they were too deep/inaccessible. Once again overnight we had torrential rain and the whole site changed. This has happened at every event so far this year – remember Slab Common, punches we had set out very easily on the Saturday were practically impossible to collect in because of the rain and the change in the water levels. And also once again the punches we set out to be difficult proved to be easier than we thought and the easy ones weren’t. There is also the way the punches change throughout the day, some get easier others harder. Each site that is used is different and that’s how it should be and believe you me setting out is not easy and punches don’t always pan out the way you’d intended. I’m not out to start an argument on here and you’re entitled to your own opinion, but I don’t agree with it.
  13. We had a good weekend keeping an eye on you lot!!! Apologies for the lack of a Burger Van , the one we managed to find at the last minute cancelled at 7.30am Sunday 'because it was raining'. So sorry if it left you with nothing to eat. I'll post a few photos later....
  14. Panic over! We've now got a burger van from first thing Sunday morning!
  15. I've been running Hankooks on my Disco since last back end - I have to say I'm pleased with them both on and off road. Can't say as I've noticed that they're any quieter on the road and considering the road miles I do they're wearing quite well too. HTH Badger
  16. How about this Mud Club Outing in Lincs It's a bit nearer for you
  17. I'd agree with alot that has already been suggested but also add Backyard Babies and also Great Driving Music!!!!
  18. Thanks for that Badger quote name='BogMonster' date='Oct 4 2007, 07:47 PM' post='186717'] Same as 200Tdi Discoverys IIRC, but not 300Tdi's which are bigger and actually produce light too
  19. I seem to remember reading somewhere that headlights from LDV Vans are the same as Discovery 1 Am I right or did dream it??
