Theviper1987 replied to Hybrid_From_Hell's topic in Tools and Fabrication
I can second what was said above I'm a self employed hgv mechanic. Has the snap on gun. It was great on cars but didn't pack the punch needed for lorrys. I now also have the new mac gun. It's brilliant. -

Right the problem I'm having is. Every now and again I get a miss/hiccup. The fuel pump relay clicks off and on instantly, the rev counter bounces and the lights on the ecu flashes off then back on. Some times it will keep running, some times it cuts out. Iv put a multimeter to the relay and when it clicks I'm getting 12v up the ignition wires(brown) I loose the earth from the ecu,(not sure if i loose the earth or it spikes to a posative. it happens that fast I can't see that volts on the multimeter (blue/purple) Which in turn I loose the 12v going to the coils and fuel pump. I have disconnected the blue/purple wire from relay and put my own earth in to a earth on the dash, it then in turn stops the relay from clicking but the rev counter and lights on the ecu still do the same(it doesn't cut out but u do hear a change in engine tone). I thought it could be a dodgy vr sensor loosing signal or something but it's still the same after changing it. All wiring to plugs and joins are solder so I doubt it's a dodgy crimp terminal somewhere. Here is a list of bits I have changed; Vr sensor Edis8 module ECU plug with the wires prewired in the plug Ht leads Spark plugs I have also tried someone else's ecu with my map loaded on to it and still the same. Any help will be listened to.

Would a dodge vr sensor do this? It's the only bit I haven't changed?!?

Sorry about the short video but I had to get it under 1.97mb 20160104_185049111.mp4

No it like 1 second on 0.5seconds off 1 second on 0.5 seconds off. But only when I crank. When I turn the ignition on. The relay clicks on for 5 seconds (pumps prime). I'm trying to post the video but I'm struggling

hi all again. iv tried another EDIS-8 and reset my setting to what nige sent me. still the same. iv done a datalog thingy using megatune but cant open it. also I cant upload it. it says 'Error you aren't permitted to upload this kind of file' any ideas im at my whits end. thanks

OK that can be tomorrow's job. I'll load the setting/map that came with the ecu from nige. Thanks for all of yours help.

Yes there is communication between the laptop and computer. How do I go able correcting this fundamental problem? Thanks again for your help all

Every 2 seconds. But I was swapping the leads around trying to find the miss. Gave up for the night and went down he pub. Got up the next morning and it was clicking the relay. Battery is fine. Iv fitted brand new ngk bp6es aswell

It's developed now. It won't even tick over now. Iv tried another ecu with my map on it and it still won't start. When u crank it now the fuel pump relay clicks on and off

Right ms1 question. Iv recently developed a miss fire I can't trace.. iv replaced the spark plugs, ht leads, coil packs.iv checked the timing more time than I can count. And it still only sounds like it's running on 7 lumpy when revving and flat while driving. With the engine running on tick over u can pull every ht lead of individually and it doesn't make it run any worse. Any ideas would be greatly listened to. Thanks

That's what I though but if it works I don't mind paying it. Thanks. I'm running ms1 btw
